decent, but not great. whilst i enjoyed the food and the cleanliness of the establishment, the mood of the lone staff member (which i believe was one of the owners) left much to be desired. as a person whose means of support relies heavily on courteous customer service, i felt the staff member's demeanor could use some vast improvement. i will never eat there again

Here! Here!. I had to smirk in agreement with the last review. Not so much in reference to the service, but to the quality of the food. We had heard good things about Val's, so we were curious to try it. Saying it is like your average (and I underline the word AVERAGE) greasy spoon hits the nail on the head. Certainly nothing special. Mae's is definitely better, and the Salmon Bay Cafe is about as good as it gets (especially if you're looking for a loaded omelette).
