What People Are Saying About Red Door

The Scene – Fremont's reputation for frump and funk is quickly becoming more rumor than reality. The same is true at the Red Door, where patrons look more like fraternity alums than quirky vegetarians. Bartenders, though, still remember the regulars, here to sip a frosty pint with good friends, not to "see and be seen." It all adds up to a place that feels homey enough, especially on rainy nights. – – The Draw – You'll want the burgers and fish-n-chips because that's the craving the place inspires. Those in the know, though, order the beer-steamed clams or the Thai…
Great Local Bar

Come here on summer afternoons to get a spot on the patio where you can enjoy a tasty beer from the ever-changing tap list. Great inexpensive bar food with a neighborhood atmosphere.
- Pros: Local Beers on Tap, Patio with a Bar
- Cons: Frat boy central on Friday and Saturday nights
General Manager should be fired! - wait staff evaluated, our not so great

We went there before a show. We were all excited to have some Mac n Jack's and sliders (a burger appetizer). The waitress, which took FOREVER to come to our table, informed us they were out of both. My girlfriend jokingly said "why didn't you hang a sign out front," and I jokingly said, "Why is your front door open, without Mac you guys should just shut down shop." Our waitress said on Sundays they always run out of popular stuff. I work in the restaurant industry and if my restaurant went out of something on any day we would be mortified because of the bad planning and management.
So anyways, we ordered their beer of the month. I gave the order and said, "but we need the beer (a pitcher) right away. Our waitress said ok, but very irritated.
Our beer came 10 min later. She plunked down 3 pint glasses, stacked on themselves, with the pitcher, rolled her eyes, and said "Here you go." We separated our glasses and poured our beer.
When the food came, she brought us our fries and chicken wings, with no individual plates. No napkins. To her credit she said she forgot napkins. 10 minutes later, after her taking orders and delivering food, my girlfriend asked if we could get napkins. 5 min later we got them.
After we ate, our napkins were on the plates of carnage, while she walked around to other tables. She walked to our table and walked away. My brother jokingly said to us, "Uh,NO, We're ok, everything is good here." We all laughed.
Another 5 min of our napkins on our plate, pitcher empty, she came by and asked if we were done. We said yes and asked for our bill.
2 min later we got our bill. We paid it and left. Through a window as we were leaving we saw that she re-entered the patio and the first thing she went to was her $2 tip. My brother and girlfriend encouraged me to stiff her, but I didn't. Without attitiude I would have tipped her like $7-8 dollars. But she sucked!!!
- Pros: Central to Fremont
- Cons: Food OK, wait staff jerky
Simply put: Walked in, walked back out
