Stay away. Don't waste your time or money here. The owner was surly and short tempered. The whole place smelled like fried cigarettes and THE BEER WAS WARM. I was told if I wanted a cold beer to come back in winter. The bathroom stank from the mop bucket of filthy, disgusting, foetid water that was left standing, the sink didn't have hot water, the pool tables drain to the northeast and ants drop from the ceiling. A man joked that you win a free beer for every fruit fly that dies in your beer. This place is awful. Go to Sullys, go the Ould Triangle, go anywhere but here.
Cool bartender/owner. Delicious burgers. Welcoming to everyone.. Great neighborhood dive, that also offers very good food. A cool place to meet up with friends for pool and beer, and not fight the massive crowds of some other places.
Phinney Ridge find is eager to please: sprawling beer list, specials galore and exotic-meat burgers (from alligator to yak.).
The Scene
The nondescript brick building on Phinney Ridge belies the plethora of tavernly delights within. The weathered space has a little of everything: two pool tables, several TVs, 26 draft beers, Jagermeister on tap, an Internet jukebox and specials galore. More notable, however, is the list of exotic meat burgers: antelope, kangaroo, ostrich, reindeer, alligator, camel, caribou and more. Surprisingly, the menu also accommodates vegetarians better than nearly any bar in town. The patrons hail mainly from the immediate neighborhood and range widely in age.
The Draw
Funny meats that may or may not taste like chicken aside, Kort Haus is an unassuming treasure. The main ingredient may be the service, which is friendly and professional. If a low-key evening is what you're after, this is a perfect place to watch a ballgame or catch up with friends.
Kort Haus Rock!.
Love this place. The people are great - you'll become a regular. Come as you are, but remember you're not in Belltown anymore... Free pool on Sundays, frickin' great burgers, and the bartenders are good - expect smiles from Gabrielle and scowls from Ed... but that's why we love this place!
Can't wait till summer on the back deck!
Best burger in town. The burgers here are worth the trip. Friendly patrons & a great bartender. Good selection of draft beer. Perfect neighborhood pub!
Loved it, will go back for sure!. Me and my girls fell in love with this quaint little hangout on the north side of Seattle. I'm from Bellevue, and I'm not big into dance clubs, and it's nice to get away from it all, this is definitely the place to be if you're a single girl! I don't know what the other person is saying up top about it being too hard to get a beer, and ugly bartenders, Seriously girlfriend, who cares? The hot guys are at the 50 cent pool table! ;) Definitely recommend and will go back!!!
Great Dive. It's a dive bar and totally honest about it. If you don't like dive bars, stay away. The owner is very friendly. The beer is cold. The burgers are mighty fine. And where else can you get tatter-tots with your burger?
