Editorial Review for Fremont Antique Mall – by Hannah Levin

In Short
Located one block north of the Fremont Bridge, this ever-evolving underground market houses a dense, eclectic selection of collectibles, furniture and clothing. It's heaven for vintage advertising and periodical junkies: piles of men's magazines from the '50s, '60s and '70s fill bins throughout the main floor, along with ad cards, posters and an array of promotional items from every era.

Clothing can be hit-or-miss, but the women's jewelry selection almost always has a few gems.

In a city where second-hand clothing stores, antique shops, and their like venues have long been picked clean and marked up by trendy boutiques exploiting the Hip Factor, it is an absolute joy to browse around Fremont's own Fremont Antique Mall where both the merchandise for sale and those ready to ring you up are fun, down to earth, and delightfully unique. People of any age will undoubtedly find some item of desire tucked away in a corner, and with items ranging from the perfectly unused, 1940's Italian pumps I got yesterday for an unbelievable price to the original pressing, Doors import my fiancé found (for $5, I might add), you will be hard pressed to walk out of there with your hands empty. And if clothes or music isn’t your thing, there's a generous assortment of smaller furniture items, advertising materials/signs, trinkets, books, jewelry, lamps, misc. house wares, and the list goes on and on. I could easily lose 2 hours here, spend under $20, and walk out a very happy camper - how many places can a person do that these days?! Fremont Antique Mall is well worth a visit, and promises to lure you back time and time again.

Pros: Wide selection, friendly and helpful staff, affordable prices, fun atmosphere

Cons: No cons here! No snotty yuppies either!
