Finally a cool place to get Nice interesting Wedding Rings!! When I decided to ask the love of my life, Melisa to marry me, I started by asking around at work for where to get a cool, Unique ring. No cookie cutter stuff... Green Lake must have been mentioned by 10 different people. So after lookiing on the Eastside first ( I live there now) and finding some nice rings, (EE Robbins and Several of the downtown Belevue shops) , I decided I better at least take a look at Green Lake since so many had told me too... Man am I happy I did. This place is really like no other busines I have seen. The shop is Huge, with Jewelers all over the place ( they told me they have like 40 people or so) , yet no one is wearing a suit or tie, and they are super casual and make it a very easy experience. They have lots of items on hand so I could see they did nice quality work, and the website has thousands of pictures to help figure out what to get. Matter of fact, after working with Melissa (the designer at Green Lake) to figure out generally what I wanted, I did most of the designing and approval of ideas and so on right on their website . (They use a private Design page for each client, so it was really easy) End result: a Unique Ring worthy of my Future Wife that she absolutly loves, In the end it was LESS expensive than the mass produced (but nice) rings at the big Engagement ring specialist I looked at. Melissa tells all her friends where we got it made, and we will definatley get our wedding bands there next year. (They have tons of ideas for my band.) Matter of fact, I had planned to just get a plain band, but my soon to be wife would not hear of it, and after a bit of looking through Green Lake's online picture gallery I found several ideas I want to mix and match to use in my special ring !! Lucky me lucky us!!

I stopped into GLJW to have a consultation about my ring. It is an antique platinum setting and my center stone was loose. My first hope was to determine it the diamond needed to be reset and also to get some help considering a new setting. It was around six pm and there was only one other couple in the show room. It looked like about 5 staff were working in the back . . . I stood around for easily 5 minutes. Long enough for the husband in the couple to mention " I guess they don't want your business". Once a young woman came over, I asked if they were getting ready to close - thinking my timing was off. She bruskly shared - "we are open until 8". I told her my situation and concerns about my diamond. She took my ring, spun on her heels and consulted with one of the jewelers. When she returned she merely stated that they could tighten it if I wanted, but they didn't think there was risk of losing my stone. Ok - how much? I asked. $50. Really? OK I decided that they didn't want the work or to provide any customer service beyond this - so I left. No consultation, no information about how to arrange this if it was not feasible at that time. Nothing. I eventually took my ring up to GB Heron in Bellingham where they cleaned, tightened and gave advice about my prongs - for the tune of 15 bucks. Unbelievable. The service and attitude of the young woman at GLJW was terrible. Really too bad for such a nice shop - she should not be at the front of the house.
Pros: nice showroom
Cons: terrible customer service
