Won't go anywhere else anymore!. This place- or at least Sherry- is fantastic! I just had my first haircut there as a spur-of-the-moment walk-in and it was one of the most satisfying, least expensive cuts I've ever had. So many good points! Let me try to organise this instead of just raving:

Sherry is brilliant. I've got really difficult hair- ringlets and waves and all-over extremely messy, plus several cowlicks. It's fine and soft so it doesn't do well with styling products at all, and anyway I'm too lazy, so I need a genius/miracle cut to actually look decent. Sherry gave me exactly that. I had no idea what I wanted but she made it look perfect.

Despite this super-star work, it cost $25. I've had cuts at high-end salons that cost five times as much and didn't come out nearly so well. Enough said. Except that I hadn't realised they only take cash or checks, not cards, but she said no worries, there's a Bank of America just up the street, go and come back in your own time!

I'm about four months pregnant, highly hormonal, and I need to pee every ten minutes. The hour I spent there was the most relaxed I've been in ages. She's chatty and funny and my god, those chairs are comfortable! I need to buy one before the third trimester. So I hung around for a while and even though she'd already started working on another client by the time I came back with cash she suggested I stay and relax as long as I like. The selfish preggers woman in me likes that kind of talk very, very much. I only left in the end because the sprog was demanding food. And I had to pee again.

So, I am now a very happy highly hormonal pregnant woman with a great haircut. This is a difficult thing to achieve. Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that Sherry is a goddess. Definitely stop by!

Old school/new school barber!. I've been going to see Spin for 6 years and he's never let me down. He is very friendly, laid back and talented. He remembers your haircut, can give great suggestions if you want but I never feel like I'm an experiment. Plus he has great music taste! If you've been going to Rudy's and feel like you number in a trendified version of supercuts, then come here! It's the best of the old school service with new school 'KEXP' sensibilities.
