We are so fortunate to live near Green Lake.. We are so fortunate to live near Green Lake. We are constantly using the park, walking/jogging around and renting a paddle boat during the summer. Our Greyhounds love the walk and all the wonderful sniffs to be had! It is also a great spot for people watching.
Great Exercise Park. I love this park so much I had to live right by it! Its a great place to walk your dog, bike, skate, walk, run....well lots of things. I don't think any activity is left out here. There are tennis courts, a wading pool, paddle boats, small sail boats, baseball fields, and tons of extra space to even set up games of volleyball. I would highly recommed this park if your into sports and exercise or even group activities. Theres always stuff going on such as star parties and special events. HOWEVER, if your not into people and like quiet for the most part I would suggest somewhere else. This park is usually full of people doing all kinds of things. Come check it out.
What's not to love about Greenlake?. Greenlake is a fantastic place to go. Walk, rollerblade, bike, run, or crawl around the almost 3 mile path that circles the lake and unless it's late at night or pouring down rain, you won't be alone (and even then, you probably won't be alone). It is a popular park for all of these activities as well as having a "kiddie" wading pool, areas to throw around the frisbee/baseball/volleyball/etc., and space to just play around. The summertime finds this park crowded with visitors planning to walk around the lake, boat on the lake (there's a rental place for little boats), and otherwise enjoy outdoor activities/sports at this cherished park.
Great park. Everyone loves green lake. It's a great park. You can go there and walk, bike, rollerblade, jog around the lake. Rentals for the most part are reasonable. You can also play frisbee or other games on the grass. There's also a great playground for kids. The only downside is that it's not the best swimming because there's advisories at least once each summer..because of algae blooms caused by ducks. Besides that, it's an excellent park..and the water is pretty to look at.
Tranquility and sports--it's all here at Seattle's cherished in-city park..
In Short
Located about eight miles north of downtown, this cherished lake-park is used by Seattleites at all times of the year, at all hours. Runners, in-line skaters, cyclists and walkers love the 2.8-mile paved path that circles the lake. Sports abound, including Ultimate Frisbee, softball, soccer, volleyball, touch football and basketball (on the outdoor courts at the park's north end). Paddleboats and canoes can be rented near thw swimming pool at the north end.
In Minneapolis, there are 5 of these. The best park in Seattle, no question....one of the few flat places to rollerblade but beware of foot traffic in the wheel lanes
wow. great place to walk ..lots of fun friendly people .clean park .wild rabbits for the kiddies, lots of fun things to do ,a lot of great food near by ..
Greenlake is fantastic. Hands down, this is the best place in Seattle to jog, hang out, walk, take kids or dogs, or just relax. It's gorgeous, clean, safe and beautiful.
Face Time. Half the fun of walking around Green Lake is people watching. Plus, the paved path of 2.8 miles makes for a perfect workout.
great place to run. I love running around greenlake. It is peaceful and beautiful. It is a good place to talk and walk with friends. There is a lot you can do here, including playing sports, hanging out at the playground, and going on the lake in the paddle boats...good times.
