Editorial Review for Goldies On 45th – by Citysearch Staff

In Short
The quintessential loud, luminescent and at times rowdy sports bar. It's just far enough from the University that students generally account for only half the population at any one time. Conversation is best kept outside, away from the whirring pinball tables and blaring music. Greasy bar food will coat your stomach for the wide assortment of beers on tap: Bud, MGD, Hefe-Weizen, Mack and Jack, Beck's, Rogue, Mirror Pond, and Cider--just to name a few.

The waitstaff and the bartenders get to know you pretty quickly - which is nice. There's usually an open pool table or dart board, and their poker tournys are always a fun way to meet new people - and they have a pretty decent selection of beers, and can mix up anything else you might want. Bar food is good - best deal is two corndogs for $2 ($1 if you're there during Happy Hour).

Pros: Great Waitstaff, Darts, Pool

If you're looking for a place to watch football....this is it. They get College Gameplan on Saturday, and NFL Ticket on Sunday....If the Seahawks aren't on, expect to see The Chicago Bears on the big screen...they have about 15-20 tv's total. Open at 9am during football season.

Pros: Sports, Relaxed, Happy Hour

Cons: Parking, No Windows really...
