The Scene – Because this full-service hotel sits on the southernmost edge of downtown, it is often overlooked. But its reliable service and array of standard amenities make it a solid choice for conventioneers and business travelers. – – The Details – There isn't much that is distinctive about the exterior of this big grey building, and all of the 553 guest rooms are essentially the same. But the views from the exercise room and pool area can't be beat. Look out at the Cascade Mountains and Capitol Hill while working out or gaze onto the Port of Seattle and much of…
Nice hotel, good value, excellent location
by maggietaylor
This location is an excellent value--walking distance to shows/bars in Capital Hill and to the Market. Weekend out-of-towners will appreciate the proximity to shopping and attractions. The new Visions lounge on the 28th floor, is a great spot for a cocktail while watching the sun go down--order the Side Car! Business travelers will appreciate the proximity to Columbia Tower and other office buildings. You can even walk to Bell Town if you put your comfy shoes on. No need to rent a car!
- Pros: Comfortable rooms, accommodating staff, dogs allowed!
- Cons: but, lobby needs to be updated...
New remodel looks amazing!
by jooz
I went and stayed with my wife over the weekend (I live in Seattle, but let my folks stay at our place). It was awesome to do a little mini staycation, walked to Poppy in Capitol Hill, and my wife did some shopping at Pacific Place, which was also walking. The best part is that I got an amazing deal, the front desk people said they are trying to promote the fact that they put $20 million in renovations to locals.
Plus their sky bar has an awesome view! *updated* I have to say that both my wife and I were very impressed with the digs you set us up with. Everything about the space was amazing and we really enjoyed hanging out in the room. We started off the night with a little happy hour in the Visions Lounge and enjoyed some delicious crab cake sandwiches, locally produced Washington gin martini's and of course, the amazing view. We wandered downtown for some shopping and dinner and greatly enjoyed the bottle of wine you sent our way. Again, thanks so much for your generosity.
- Pros: Amazing Deal, we could bring our dog, and could walk so many cool places
- Cons: none
A GRAND disapointment
by tclark0609
Fopr the Marriott Family of hotels, this was incredibly dissapointing. The exterior has dirt drip lines down the sides and it is an UGLY reflection on what you would expect coming to a Marriott brand hotel. Upon entering the lobby, it looks a bit nicer but is not warm at all, outdated, and an all around disapointment matched by the exterior. the rooms are old, the food barely adequate, the bar common, the facilities are rinky dink, the meeting space sporadic and used and the hotel seems to be completely mis-managed. Wait staff in the restaurant was very cordial, but the rest of the staff was either distant or offered a very contrived greeting. Not sincere at all.
