Great People Great Food. Thought the location was super cute and unique. Everything has always been yummy although I have never been to NY so have no comparison. the staff has always been friendly and helpful. Maybe if you don't arrive with an attitude you don't get one from the staff.…
Wish there were more. This place has great salami. Their specials are dang good too0. especially the soups. ChumBotta? When i asked, they said it was kitchen sink soup, everything in it including salami! With a hunka bread, that was a meal itself.…
Just hype, place is a dump. Long lines ouside for garbage sandwhices. stale bread,Thin slices, poor food handling, dirty counters.Must be living off the Batati name.I would never go back here .
I also don't get it!. This placed would be laughed off the block in Philadelphia, a place for true, delectable Italian sandwiches. I must agree that the counter people are disturbingly slow and preoccupied with their own issues. The line was out the door, (still not sure why) and she is talking to her coworker about what they did last night, slowly arranging salami, one by one, on the bread. Appalling!! The sandwich is ok, but I'll take a south Philly hoagie in a heartbeat. Overall very disappointing, and not worth the hype, or wait. Come ON!…
fabu salumi, so so sandwich. I finally made it to Salume yesterday and I don't get it. First the good points: no doubt about it, their salume are excellent. I got the 'winter' salumi, with green, white, and pink peppercorns. The other half dozen choices sounded very good too. The bread for the sandwich was excellent, too; I got the olive oil bread. The other choice was a ciabatta. Now, when they put the salumi on the bread, it's less than fair. I have two complaints: There is an 8:1 ratio of bread to salumi, and they don't remove the rind. I was constantly pulling these plastic like shreds out of my mouth and I think I swallowed several before I realized what was going on. The salume are sliced so thin you hardly get any taste, but you do get the aroma so your brain it tricked into thinking you are eating a hearty sandwich. (very clever that madman) Next time, I'll simply buy some salume and good bread and make my own sandwiches. They do ship so that will save me the wait in line. One other complaint: I didn't like one of the counter girls; she was making a quartet of sandwiches for the person in line in front of me and you'd think she was preparing the bread for communion -- much too preoccupied with herself and taking too long; I mean it's only a sandwich.…
