Telephone number connects to another firm. Storefront is empty with no sign. No comments on the food, obviously.

One of the worst

This is probably one of the worst Japanese restaurants I have ever visited, and that includes time spent in the midwest. I ordered the special, which was a bento box of teriyaki salmon, tempura, rice, miso soup, and melon cubes. First of all, the person who greeted us at the door told us the special came with California roll, which we later found out it did not (this person looked like the owner). The rice was cold. Not lukewarm, but cold. The tempura was lukewarm and limp. The tempura sauce was in very short supply. The miso soup was hot and had a decent flavor. The salmon was a little too sparse, but the flavor was acceptable. My co-worker ordered the oyako donburi and she said that the chicken was undercooked.
- Pros: Nice decor
- Cons: Expensive, Poor food, Small portions
Chikara-Don RULES!

When you walk into this place, you are hit by nostalgia. This place looks and feels like the Japanese restaurants of my childhood in Asia. The food is awesome...tastes like it's made from scratch rather than the pre-mixed junk that you see in restaurants nowadays. However, the service is pretty SLOW and there's no music AT ALL. But the food does make it all worth the wait, if you are not in a hurry to go anywhere.
- Pros: Awesome taste
- Cons: SLOW service, Bad parking, Bad location
Meager Portions, Bad Service

The portion size for lunch was beyond meager, at least for the sashimi . The modest-sized rice bowl was 3/4 EMPTY. The "salad" was 5 half-moons of paper-thin cucumber.
Even I, a small woman with a small appetite, was still hungry after I'd eaten every scrap of food on my plate!
The staff was incredibly rude. When I asked if I could order more food (I was still hungry!), the scowling waitress told me "NO!".
I asked again if I could order more food, but was told that there was no more of food to be served. Surprising, since at that point it was only 12:15 pm. Then the waitress thrust my bill at me and walked away.
The food was average at best. After spending $10 for a mediocre lunch, you'd at least think you wouldn't have to leave hungry. Or put up with snarly waitstaff.
- Cons: , meager portions, mediocre food
A gem~

In one of the worst parts of downtown, this adorable restaurant stands out like an oasis. The decor is attractive, the staff were very friendly, and the food was great <3 I went with 3 friends (one of whom is Japanese) and we were all very impressed. Amazingly enough, it has been in that location for almost 30 years.
- Pros: Clean, Atmosphere
