Highly disappointing dining experience!. When we arrived at the restaurant, a former employee was outside passing out fliers stating that the owner of Flavor of India had not paid him $1500 in wages. You would have thought that would have been a good clue of the type of establishment it was, but I thought I would still give it a try. The wait staff were not friendly or prompt, depite only having only two other couples in the restaurant. They gave my mom the wrong order, and were very slow and onery to get her correct order. If that wasn't bad enough, they wanted to charge us again for rice. I had to explain to them several times that we wouldn't have had to order more rice if they had gotten the order right. Finally, they begrudgingly agreeing to take the extra rice off our bill. Beyond all this, the food was mediocre and very over priced for what you got. I would strongly recommend finding some other place to eat! It was very unpleasant!

Never again!. This was the worst Indian food that I have ever eaten. My friend and I both ordered the chicken tikka masala, and not only was the sauce barely orange in color, it was also incredibly soupy and seriously lacked flavor. I will never eat there again.

Horrible bufet, average A la carte. I had been to this restaurant one time before, and it wasn't great but worth coming back, the buffet was one of the worst buffet I've experienced so far. It was mediocre, it seem just lazily cooked and watered down to the point that it made my wife feel sick.

If you must eat here stay away from the buffet.

Good place. The buffet is not extraordinary, but set amongst the mediocre and less-than-mediocre Indian buffets in the city, this is one of the better ones. The food is not cooked into an unrecognizable mush, and is quite tasty. The friendly waitstaff is happy to oblige quickly with information about the food and service.

User review by butterflydreaming. I have had several excellent experiences here. The restaurant is quiet and peaceful, softly lit, and the music played enhances the ambiance. I and my friends have been very pleased with the attentive service. Dining in both big and small groups, we have been welcomed and treated with gracious hospitality. The food may come out slowly, but I have found this to be common among Indian restaurants at dinner time, since all of the food is cooked to order, slowly in the tandoori oven.

The food is very good, whether mild or spicy, vegetarian or meat. The Golden Temple biryani is the best version of this rice dish that I have had in Seattle. The lassi drinks have a nice balance of rose water to the other flavors. I recommend saving room for dessert; the gulab jamun -- cake-like spheres soaked in a sweet, spiced syrup -- are delicious.
