such a ripoff

by claytonator78 at Citysearch

Kau Kau barbeque lied to me at ruined my wedding meal. I called a month in advance to secure my order for a whole roasted pig. It cost $285 and was supposed to be 45-55 lbs with another 15 lbs. of pork stuffed in it to freed my 120 guests for a grand total of $400. I called the day of to make sure everything was ok and to pay the remainder of the costs. when i got the pig delivered it was only about 25lbs and no extra pork like i ordered. it looked meager and was very disappointing. When i called them the next day to find out what happened they were very rude and accommodating and told me that they had no way of contacting me (lie) and didn't know how much pork to add so they didn't add any, and that they could have fixed the order if i talked to them before the order went out even though i called them a total of 3 times before including the day it went out and they never said anything then. Now that makes sense, order says extra meat so lets not put any in it because we don't know how much extra. plus let's give them the smallest pig we have. They offered me a weak discount at their store in an attempt to make things better but i will never use them again for anything. Bottom line is this, if you want a special meal for a special day, don't call these people!

Tasty but there's roach problems

I love this place but saw the owners killing a couple of roaches on the wall today behind the cashier. roaches are everywhere and it's unavoidable.

!.5 Million Chickens and Ducks

by CastIronChef at Citysearch

I was taken to this place by an Asian man who has been going here for over 35 years – he tells me that the chef there has cooked a million and a half chickens and ducks in that time. Soy sauce chicken is the best I've ever had. Roast duck is exceptional as well. Wonderful vegetable dishes. I read one review that complained about 'fatty pork.' They much have had the side pork which is exceptionally fatty by design. When fresh from the kitchen, the burnt skin is fantastic but it does dry out a bit when you take it home in a closed box. Service depends on time and business but I have had hot food on my table in less than sixty seconds. When dinner time rolls around, the cars are double parked up the block for hours getting bbq pickup – not the case anywhere else in ID.

  • Pros: Side pork is to die for

Good take out- love the crispy roasted pork

by FionnaSnow at Citysearch

The only thing I love in this restaurant is the lovely crispy roasted pork. Crunchy, tasty, and fresh - only if you come in around 4:30 or after. This is the time they have the fresh crispy roasted pork come out from the oven. A lot of Chinese mom/grandma,grandpa come in this time for the fresh roasted pork. Chinese elderly people are the smartest groups to shop for very cheap but also tasty food. If you eat their lunch special at noon, and come back after 4:30 for the same order or roasted pork, you can definitely tell the difference. And plus, it's cheap. under 6 bucks. Hey, the above information is only apply to weekdays, Not sure about their weekends hours cuz I don't work at wkends. Oh, don't blame me on other food they offer in the restaurant, remember, I only recommend the Roasted Pork , especially if you come in between 4:30 - 6pm

  • Pros: Fresh, crunchy, tasty roasted pork, cheap price
  • Cons: parking
