What People Are Saying About Wessel & Lieberman Booksellers

Citysearch
In Short – This antiquarian bookseller buys and sells out-of-print and hard-to-find books. The store is clean, cool and well organized, and the owners are willing to help find books. Prepare to browse for longer than you expected; read a 19th century letter or look at the first edition set of medical dictionaries from 1743. Prices start at $5 for newer tomes, but collector items can run quite a bit steeper than that.
Books better than new.

Whenever I am in Seattle (far from where I live) I visit this shop. If you go to a bookstore, even a good one like Eliot's, further down 1st Ave, your choices are limited to the current crop of books, most of which are not good enough to survive the decade. Wessel & Lieberman has the books good enough to survive the decades, of all kinds. Collectibles, but not just that.
- Pros: short walk from Pioneer Square.
Upscale yet unpretentious
by tomdotkom
This is the best specialty bookstore in the area. The books are nicely kept and though definitely a specialist's store, the staff and owner's are unpretentious.
- Pros: Unpretentious, interesting, serene
- Cons: pricey, parking, closed Sunday
