If you don't know where in the universe you're going (or where you've been), Metsker Maps will help you out with celestial maps, inflatable beach ball globes, map software, topographic hiking maps, reproductions of antique maps and travel books. If your geography is less than stellar, there are puzzles and games to assist you. The store, which has been around since the early 1900s, claimed Pioneer Square as its geographical center in 1982.

Unique resource and uniquely resourceful staff.. Yes, yes, the map collection here is staggering, but more than that, it's USABLE. I don't mean that you can plot your trip right in the store (perhaps you could, but for pete's sake, buy the maps!), but rather that the staff can help you choose just what you want. I was even able to compare multiple maps of the same quadrant for an upcoming trip, picking both the scale and the style that suited me best.
