The address on the web page is wrong - they should change it. It is in downtown Ballard - 2220 NW Market Street, Room L-05, in the basement. This is one of the most unusual places in the city of Seattle. It is a little room crammed floor to ceiling with all kinds of interesting books. Books on alchemy, books on meditation, books on alternative health, qi gong, kundalina yoga, Goddess worship, UFOs, mythology, Celtic traditions, astrology, Tesla technology and free energy, government conspiracies and near-death experiences. They also have music CDs that I borrow. They also have hundreds of video tapes about these subjects. These are not the kind of videos you can find at Blockbuster, or even Netflix. I don't like that the hours are so limited, they are only open from 4-8 pm Monday - Friday, and in the afternoon on Saturday and Sunday. I think that is because it is all volunteer. I've joined, it's $35 a year. I bought a subscription for my brother, who lives in Denver. That was $40, to do it mail-order. Sometimes I just like to go there to see who else is there. It's hard to find people with these interests, and I've met three or four people there that I have gotten to know pretty well. They used to be on Capitol Hill. I think they just moved here to Ballard about a year ago. I wish the parking were better. Ballard parking is pretty bad, but I park on Shilshole Avenue, just south of Market Street. The parking is free, and I've always managed to find a spot. It means walking a block, but that's not bad.
Pros: Collection of materials, people
Cons: Parking, hours
