The Scene – When the friendly server says the pizza will be ready in 20 or 25 minutes, that's a good sign the families and students milling around this University Village pizza joint are getting darned good slices. It's also why this neat, clean little place urges patrons to call orders in ahead of their arrival. – – The Food – Chicago-style is the draw here, which means a stuffed pizza with fillings slotted between two crusts and tomato sauce on top. Deep-dish pizzas and thin-crust varieties are also available. They're all baked in a 1958 Faulds rotary oven whose…

Almost $10 to add a topping? Unbelievable!

by wafoodie at Citysearch

The menu states that it costs under $3 to add any topping to a large deep dish pizza, but when I wanted to add spinach to a Delfino's Special, they wanted to charge me the price of a deep dish spinach pizza plus 4 additional toppings. So what should have been $28.70 + $2.40 ($31.11) was going to be $39.30???? That's nearly $10 for adding spiniach as a topping.

I am not the first customer to bring this up, and the owner refuses to accomodate customer feedback. In this economy? It's just BAD business, and it makes me wonder what other surprises are part of their menu pricing.

As a devout Chicago deep-dish lover, I think the pizza at Delfino's is passable, and the service is usually good. But my clearest impresion is that Delfino's is too comfortable as the only deep-dish place in the Seattle area, and this means that neither the menu nor the customer are always right.

  • Pros: Passable pizza, good table service
  • Cons: Hidden pricing

BEST PIZZA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by PrinceDanny at Citysearch

Absolutely the best pizza I've ever had. Delfino's makes the most delicious Chicago style pizza. Their deep dish pizza is amazing, but their stuffed crust is a must have!!! I recommend the stuffed with spinach, herbs, and cheese. The zesty tomato sauce provides the pizza with an extra zing that is unparalleled. In addition, do yourself a favor and order the black olives as a topping. All the ingredients tasted fresh and perfectly complemented each, making each stuffed bite seem like one is popping little pillows of deliciousness into your mouth. I will be back over and over again...

Best pizza I've had in Washington State

I loooove the pizza here! It's absolutely amazing!! Their Caesar Salad is my favorite and their stuffed spinach, cheese, or delfino's special pizzas are to die for. Their deep dish delfino's special is awesome too. WOW.

Horrible Deep Dish Pizza

by chitown312 at Citysearch

This is the WORST deep dish pizza I have ever had. Im born & raised in Chicago, and this is an insult to Chicago style pizza.. There was hardly any tomato sauce, and the crust tasted like old bread. A real Chi pizza must have a flaky crust, this did NOT. I was very disappointed with this joint, if you want a real pizza in the Seattle area, just order one online from Lou Malnati's! Save your time and money and go else where!!

inexpensive lunch with service!

by emome86 at Citysearch

I am a UW student, and I prefer to walk off campus for lunch rather than eat in the loud, crowded options available on campus. At Delfino's, I can get lunch (a slice of stuffed spinach) complete with a root beer for less than $7. I can pay this much or more on campus, or at other places in the UVillage, but what keeps me coming back to Delfino's is the inexpensive lunch PLUS service. I can sit down and read, while having my root beer refilled when needed, having my plates bussed, and all very promptly.

  • Pros: pizza by the slice at lunch, inexpensive
