Great Chinese. Easy location, watch out for MSG!
by dineronadime
Excellent food and service, rarely a wait and nice lunch specials at this no-frills restaurant on the border of U Village. Beware, however, that if you are sensitive to MSG as I am it is hidden all over the place. I wish they'd get rid of it but in the meantime just ask carefully do not accept "there's just a little" as adequate protection.
- Pros: price, location, good food, reasonable prices
- Cons: Hidden MSG
Great food, Great Family Restaurant
by wedgwoodian
China Village is a great family restaurant in two ways:
1. There's plenty on the menu for even the most finicky of kid. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. Nobody bats an eye when at the mess a kids can leave behind.
2. It's a family run restaurant, and the owners are just wonderful. I think the same family has owned China Village for over 20 years. That's a lot of dedication. When you walk in, you get the sense that it's different than the other Chinese restaurants in the area.
Our favorite: Spicy Noodle in Peanut Sauce and their fried tofu. But really, it's all great.
- Pros: Family restaurant in multiple way.
- Cons: If you're looking for a romantic restaurant, this isn't it.
Best Chinese in Seattle
by sarahp5366
I love Chinese food, and ever since I moved here two years ago I've been searching for great Chinese food in Seattle. China Village is better than Judy Fu's, hands down. The food is flavorful without being greasy. The hot and sour soup is the best in Seattle. And, the family who owns it is so nice! Also, I've never had to wait to be seated.
You should try the Walnut Prawns - they are huge, tender on the inside, crunchy on the outside, and just plain delicious.
Only downside: They don't have crab rangoon.
- Pros: Quick seating, friendly service, plenty of parking
- Cons: None
