The Scene
Don't worry about proselytizing here. Except for an inspirational saying and a schedule of free meditation classes propped on each table, the restaurant's greatest show of working toward inner peace is in its inexpensive, healthful and flavorful fare. Pots of hanging plants punctuate the simple, clean, two-room space. Waitresses draped in Indian saris cheerfully attend to wholesome Northwest and long-haired counterculture folk.
The Food
Dal (Indian lentil soup) -- enlivened with tomato and cilantro -- manages to be spicy without masking the flavor of the fresh ingredients. Roll-ups (whole-wheat flatbread filled with curry or hummus, salad and sprouts) are also flavorful and large enough to share. Indian foods can be quite sweet: a plum chutney that's reminiscent of jam, and raita (yogurt salad made with carrots and raisins) that could pose as a dessert. Raisins are everywhere, from curries to samosa pastry fillings.

Everything we have ordered here is great - try the Neat Loaf. The staff is wonderful, the menu is fantastic. Even when they are busy it is a relaxed atmosphere.

Sweet atmosphere, kind service, and delicious soul-food for everyone. Only wish it could be open more hours! I really enjoy the items on their lunch menu.
Pros: Pretty & clean place, waiters in saris who don't mind if you're picky, awesome food!
