Excellent variety and good prices.. The buffet at Araya's was overwhelming. My favorites were probably the pad thai, the curry, the basil and tomato salad, and the sticky black rice with coconut milk. Even my meat-eating parents seemed pleased. I had a thai tea with coconut milk, which was a nice twist on an old favorite. Our empty plates were cleared away fairly quickly, although the service seemed to be a little slow as is typical of buffets. The price was lower than most buffets, however. It was crowded, but we were seated promptly. The restaurant has its own parking lot, so you don't have to pay to park on the street. The buffet runs until 3:30PM. I'd like to go back and try some of the entrees.
Glad this place is still going.
On my last trip to Seattle, I went in for lunch and met the whole family.
It was right after 9/11 and they were worried about staying in business.
It is hare to have a place with such a narrow appeal. Thankfully they were still
there this July. Good work and thank you for staying the course. I just wish
that their customers could realize what a great thing these people are doing and
pay over the bill.
A nice supprise. A relatively new addition to the U-District. It has free parking, altough the parking lot can be a little tricky getting into if you are going west on 47th. The pumpkin curry was amazing, and the swimming rama was bar none the best I've had. I've never liked vegan food, but this was a very pleasing exception.
Don't miss the buffet!.
Araya's is a delightful place for dinner, with incredible appetizers (tofu satay! EXCELLENT spring rolls!) and a wide range of entrees.
That said, the best value to be had there is definitely the buffet. Monday through Friday for about four hours in the afternoon you can have as much as you can eat from their beautiful buffet tables, including the aforementioned spring rolls, fried rice, pad thai, soup, dessert, and several other dishes.
Not to be missed!
Transcendant Thai. The food is heavenly. The staff are wonderful. The prices are low. The ambiance is eclectic and funky. It's a slam dunk hit.
vegan heaven. Araya's lunch buffet at under $6 for all you can eat is a vegetarians dream come true. They have a quality selection from spring rolls to pod thai and their peanut sauce is the best. Even my carnivor friends walk away smiling and fully satiated.
We loved this place!!!!.
My family and I ate their twice during our visit to Seattle.
My Seattle brother and his wife go there all the time.
Everything in the buffet was delicious;even our 13 year old
son liked it!! It's great to go somewhere where you don't
have to ask the waiter/waitress if it has meat or fish in it.
Amazing curry!. Araya's has become a weekly habit for me and boyfriend. We are both Vegan, and I can't put into words how much fun it is to look at a menu and know we can order anything.......really! Most resturants we are lucky if there is even one. The curries are extra special, over the holidays the pumpkin curry is amazing. The pad Thai is the best in Seattle.....I could go on, but just go and you'll see what I mean.
Yummy. This place has great food. Love the tofu! The flavors are spiced so well, you don't even miss the meat.
