Not worth the wait

After seeing this place on food network and observing that it always has a crowd, I was expecting a wait - and wait we did. Waited to get seated, waited to order, waited to get my coffee refilled, and waited for my food to finally arrive. Unfortunately, the mediocre diner food didn't make up for the slow service. I will wait to go back.

Not a Big Deal

This restaurant came highly reccommended by my friends and when I finally had the chance to check it out I was disapointed. The menu isn't that spactacular, the excecution was nothing special and it wasn't cheap enough to make up for the 2 previous factors. Overall would walk across the street to the Varsity.

Great Food but don't be in a hurry

We have been to Voulas' several times on Sunday for breakfast. Each visit has been great, the Hobo scrables (both Greek and country) are wonderful. The hash browns are to die for. But it does take a while to get your order, the kitchen is small and the crowds are large. Well worth waiting for,

Great Food, Great Value, Great Wait

Having seen the Food Network show that covered Voula's, I decided to give a try. A friend and I went to Voula's on Sunday and got there just before 11am. They were busy, but were able to seat us within a couple minutes after arriving.

The menu looked great. Lots of breakfast fare, all priced within reason, with lots of typical american breakfast fare, many that have had Greek twists to them.

After getting served some great coffee and some time to look over the menu, we ordered a Greek Hobo, which is a mix of scrambled eggs, has browns, mushrooms, onion hash browns and greek sausage, which has similar taste to gyro meat. My friend ordered a greek style omlet with feta and spinach.

The coffee is outstanding. It's nice and strong, yet not overbearing.

Unfortunately the main negative comment I have with Voula's is the speed of which you get your meals. While busy, the place did not have a feel of chaos. Yet we waited for about 70 minutes for our meal. The table of four next to us, who was seated at the same time, got their meal also very late, but got it early enough to be about finished by the time we were served.

Other comments referred to rude staff. We didn't experience that. The service was friendly and we did not have to ask for coffee refills or water refills, which is my main guage for service.

I would recommend Voula's with only the caveat that you should allow your timing to not run up against anything else. We had a 1pm Mariners game and just got seated by starting pitch. For weekends, I would probably get in about when they open or look elsewhere, unless you have a couple hours to burn.

Kitchen Too Small

If I hadn't gone to Voula's during the weekend brunch rush, about noon on Sunday, they'd have gotten another star. Unfortunately, this trip made obvious a big problem with Voula's, it's kitchen just isn't big enough to adequately serve the amount of seating they have. Apparently they expanded their dining room recently. This allowed them to seat us very quickly. What my friend and I didn't realize was that having been seated and placed our order their underpowered kitchen meant it was going to TAKE FOREVER to get our food. In my book, 45 minutes from order to plates arriving on the table is unacceptable. Now, it could have been because I was faint due to low bl00d sugar but the food was very good. Bottom line, go when it isn't busy or bring a book to read while you wait for your food.

p.s. How can bl00d be an inappropriate word for a restaurant review?!? That's inane.
