It might not be the best banh mi around, but it's tasty & the tofu version w/egg is a filling lunch for under $5.
Fresh food, impressive service. I eat at Saigon Deli at least 2-3 times a week. Its food is always fresh, homey, and cost-friendly--- just the right thing for a student on a tight budget. Although small, the deli has a nice variety of yummy dishes (which is why I can keep eating there all the time). But the most impressive thing about this tiny little deli is the service. Although the deli is usually busy during lunch, the service is quick and attentive. The owner-manager of the restaurant has an amazing memory of her customers' favorite dishes or the particular way they like their dishes prepared. She is often heard offering extra noodles for Pho for no extra charge on rainy days or free home-made yogurt desert on sunny days. Saigon Deli is a little gem of a restaurant that reminds me of home.
Yummy dining and cheap to boot!. I moved to Seattle recently for college and this place is one of the closest to my apartment. I consider myself lucky to be within walking distance because I love the food here. I would recommend any of the rice vermicelli dishes (the tofu one is my favorite). The portions are huge and most of them are under 6 bucks (including tax). Recently they have started to include a free dessert with every entrée. The waitress is very friendly especially to regular customers. The only unfortunate thing about this place is that not enough people know about it.
