This fiercely independent bookstore--crawling with cats and attitude--sells used books with attitude.. The Scene
Twice Sold is like a scrappy, streetwise kid with blue hair, holding her own in a classroom full of slickly attired chain-store peers. Cats stalk across the wooden arches that span shelf tops and upturned milk crates serve as steps to reach books. Signs reveal the store's attitude (No. 13 on the list of Questions Guaranteed to Annoy Twice Sold Tales Employees: "Do you have that one book that was on 'Oprah?'"). Body jewelry abounds. Customers include UW students, Ave passers-by, bus-stop loiterers and radicals of all ages.
