Disappointed.
I brought in bags of designer clothes and 8 pairs of shoes (unworn stilettos still in boxes) and they only took the shoes. Which would be fine, except the amount they priced them at was a joke (maybe I could afford a Starbucks), so I told them I didn't want to sell, but they said the shoes were already on the floor and the girl had already set aside a pair for herself. What?!
I've always held this business in a positive light, but after the service I received and the presumptious behavior I experienced, I will never return and I will pass on my story.
I'd rather give away my clothes than be taken advantage of and insulted; lucky for me, there's a Goodwill a few stores down.
Cool stuff have to wade through all the non cool too.
I do not go here often, but everytime I make it in I find a cool find... Just got a Coat that was cooler than the new stuff at Nordies, for 1/3 the price! Score!!
Just have to drive to SEattle more often I guess !
Not quite a vintage boutique, not quite a thrift store: Chic clothes on these racks are the coolest castoffs around..
In Short
The first Buffalo Exchange opened in 1974 in Tucson, Arizona, and has since become a famous-label junkie's delight. The eclectic inventory is built by loyal customers who bring in former favorites from their own closets to sell or trade. A constant turnaround of lightly worn men's and women's clothing and accessories keeps the bargain-hunting ground fertile for finds from the likes of Kate Spade, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and others.
Great spot for expensive clothes on the cheap. Since it's a used clothes (mostly) store the inventory can be good or bad, but I've had terrific luck here. I've gotten clothes from J. Crew, Banana Republic, Bebe, Lucky Jeans and more for a fraction of the normal cost and in relatively great condition. They also have a fun shoe selection, funky accessories and bags, and are a great spot when looking for a one-of-a-kind dress for under $30.
Good used clothes. The Buffalo Exchange is a pretty good store to get used clothes or sell your old clothes. There are a lot of designer brands to choose from, so it's pretty easy to find good stuff. The clothes are kinda expensive because the clothes are mostly gently used, almost new, or new. Overall, it's a good store.
Buffalo Exchange.
This is a great store if you are hip, trendy, & a overall experienced "thrift shopper" - You can easily be in & out of this store - just as easy as you could over-look all of the unique essentials Buffalo offers.
Its hard to not appreciate this store b/c there are several factors that create the ultimate shopping experience here. Three words: Buy, Sell & Trade. You get a great trade & sell value for all items sold to Buffalo.
They carry designer labels, apparel, unique findings & super great Vintage Clothing. The trade value is awesome if you are looking to shrink your closets last season's wear, & create new, fun items for the current season.
Overall, Buffalo Exchange carries one of a kind picks, offering somewhat Vintage Boutique Style "pieces" - to the patient "thrift shopper" - who knows what they are looking for.
Cheers to Buffalo!!
