Seattle >Headlines Salon
Great saon. I must say I was very suprised when I found this salon, I've walked by it several times but never realized that it was there, I am very happy I did.
consistent, great haircuts. I see Emily at Headlines, and I am always extremely pleased with her work. She does a wonderful job, and always is completely honest about what she thinks will work. I always completely trust her judgment. I am not very dutiful about going in every 6 weeks for a trim, but when I do see her we are able to pick up our conversation where we last left off. I love going to her! Also, she gives free bangs trims to her regular clients in between visits. It's not something I've taken advantage of, but I think it's worth mentioning.
Great cut, lasted for months. I travelled to Seattle for vacation in September and I like to get haircuts as souvenirs. I was a walkin and Chastina took care of me. I wanted my haircut to be chic but not too trendy, like Posh's, with taste and style but not too wacky, because I'm working in a co-op (engineering student). Chastina was right on the money when she said it should look great enough for a suit. Back in Houston, even until December people still complimented my hair. It looks like people either have great or terrible experiences; I'd recommend Chastina. I don't know how the others will be. I'm going back to Seattle in March and I hope she can cut it again! (And it was pretty affordable, ~ $50)
Great Salon. I am very happy with this salon. The employees are friendly and helpful. I have seen many stylists here and am proud to say that. This is a very talented group. Emily is my favorite- a TALENTED hair dresser and worth waiting to see. Connie is bubbly, funny, and also does a good job. I recommend this salon above all others.
Every time I get out of this place, I swear NEVER AGAIN I am getting into this convenient trap. The door is opened, "walkings welcome", I only have 2 hours before the kids will wake-up, and I am in..again...
It has been two days since a bold guy Bill has chopped my hair, turning my head into a shapeless mop. I can't even categorize the cut. Last time it was a different guy, same corner room. I think, they hate the walk-ins, and teach us not to do so, by sending to the very worst. Maybe?
Hopefully, it will help some oneelse to make a better choice. "World Class Style, Guaranteed Satisfaction" - NOT!
Go see Young, hair extraodinaire.
I love it's super convenient location; I like that I can go shopping, run errands and get my hair done in one stop.
Young has been cutting my hair for 2+ years and she's amazing- she absolutely knows what will and will not work for you. My hair has never looked better!
New crop awesome!!. I read the reviews on this sight, and then noticed the dates. All the hair stylists that were frowned upon are no longer with Headlines Salon. I actually checked!! I have been in 3 times- twice for getting my hair done, and once again to buy Bumble and Bumble shampoo and conditioner. Everyone is experienced and knowledgeable, friendly and really good!! I love the fact that it is at University Village. I HIGHLY recommend this salon for cuts, color, style ( I had my hair styled for the holidays- loved it!!) and wares. People there really care about what they do and the people that they serve. Very wonderful experience.
Great Salon. I agree with the last reviewer. Headlines in wonderful. The atmosphere is very pleasant. They sell GREAT products, and the receptionist is extremely helpful. My hair has never looked better. Coming to U. Village is a fun time and you can get so much done. This is the perfect salon location.
Great Salon. I have read these reviews, and completely disagree. Headlines Salon has always been professional and respectful. From the front desk to the stylists- and over the years I have had the pleasure to experience a few of them, i have been thrilled. I have also recommended Headlines to MANY people over the years, and have had no complaints. Please take the complaints for what they are- wrong. Bad perceptions,,,etc. This is a great place.
Trauma like none other.
I decided to treat myself to a haircut this past November. My father had died a month earlier. Run down and having my first day off in a month, I went to U Village to shop, relax, and feel pretty.
I passed by Headlines Salon and decided to take advantage of the "$5 off walk-ins special". I'd tried to do so for a few months, but they were always too booked. Well, today was my lucky day...or so I thought.
I checked in with reception and was told they could see me in 20 minutes. I picked up some pottery from Paint the Town, came back in, and took a seat. 30 minutes later I was asked if I had an appointment. I had checked in, walked less than 300 feet from the salon, and come back in under 10 minutes...and the receptionist I had scheduled with had no idea who I was. Furthermore, my stylist had gone to lunch. After waiting another 20 minutes, Sunni returned and frowned at my hair.
I am quite fond of my reverse bob cut and merely wanted it trimmed. It took me years to grow and color just right. I loved the clean line and was growing it out for a wedding next year. He looked at it disdainfully, asked what I wanted done, and balked at the idea of a mere trim. Although he was not aggressively rude, he did make it clear that he thought I looked awful.
He took a razor comb to my hair, and cut off over 6 inches from my longest hair in the front. That brought hair line up to my cheekbones. I actually had trouble breathing. He threw tons of product in my hair despite the fact that I asked him not to; my hair felt like something dead. At the end, I was charged the full price...no discount for the walk-in, and left.
I got into my car and cried.
Since then I have told a few folks what happened. 2 of my female friends had the same experience with Sunni.
Bottom line: Don't go here. Look at the reviews from this year. Salons change stylists and it has clearly been a bad crop (no pun intended) this year. Save your money and dignity!
