Seattle >Expert Electrolysis
Expert - as advertised!.
I have suffered with embarrassing facial hair growth for years, but was nervous about the idea of electrolysis. However, when laser hair removal didn't work for me I made the right decision to go to Expert Electrolysis.
Joan has run Expert Electrolysis in the Ballard / Loyal Heights neighborhood for many years, and that name is perfect for the quality of service she offers. Joan is knowledgeable and reassuring without EVER leading you on to believe it will be "a walk in the park" or "you won't feel a thing". I appreciated that during my complementary pre appointment she removed a few hairs so I could feel what it would be like. She also helped me set realistic expectations for how many appointment it might take to address my hair growth - no over-promising, but she also explained hair growth patterns so that I understood both why it might take many appointments, and what type of improvements I would see along the way. It is a real commitment to undertake, but already I am so happy with the progress that it is worth every step!
All my appointment with Joan have been timely (i.e. no waiting, and I get out as scheduled too). I leave feeling prepared for any potential side effects and knowing how to care for my skin to reduce side effect (which have been minimal - but I was grateful to know what could happen, even when it didn't!) ... and I also leave knowing what to expect from my next appointments.
Joan was very informative about effective pain remedies (even without any pain remedy the level of discomfort was manageable, but now that I use a topical numbing cream I don't feel tense about my appointments).
The facilities are clean, comfortable, attractive and private. Overall my experiences with Joan at Expert Electrolysis have been 100% positive, and I am very pleased with the results!
Great Service, when you can get in.. I would give Joan 7 stars, she's GREAT at what she does and she obviously really enjoys her career but getting an appointment isn't easy. I have to book an appointment at least 12 weeks out! Sdly, I will be in search of a different aesthetician because it's so hard to get it in to see her.
