This store is part of the legacy of Norwegian immigrants, Anne and Adolf Nilson, who started smoking seafood several decades ago in Portlock, Alaska. The Nilsons' store in Ballard is patronized by loyal customers. Canned salmon is stacked as neatly as a Legoland towers, side-by-side with fancy gift boxes. Salmon comes in many forms: kippered, canned, fresh, smoked, sockeye, king, Copper River and Atlantic, they also sell sausage and sandwiches to go.
