Arrogant and tricky. It is unfortunate that I need to write another review. Had Apulent done what they were contracted to do for our wedding after-party, I would have not written a review of the wedding catering, nor would need to write this one.

To be brief: We hired Apulent to cater the after-party on our condo rooftop for 3 hours, 9pm to MN. From 9pm – 10pm, it lightly rained. I was on the roof the entire time in my wedding dress, with hair and make-up that had been professionally done. Trust me, it was not raining hard. By 10pm, the rain had cleared up and the rooftop was totally dry.

Apulent was on contract for 3 hours to provide items such as pillows, blankets, music, etc. Even though the roof was dry after 1 hour, they did not provide any of the Items we PAID for for the remaining 2 hours.

When we asked to be refunded for the services that were not rendered, they said no and were arrogant about the situation. How they can justify charging us, when they sure packed up the items quickly, even though we PAID them for 3 hours time, is really fascinating.

Even if the rain would have stopped in the last 15 minutes, they should have provided what we had paid for, for the remaining contracted time.

It seems Apulent thinks they are really something and smart business people. They are not that smart as our outrage over this very obvious lack of integrity on their part has us writing reviews and telling everyone we meet.

I just got married; I have a lot of folks asking about the wedding. Apulent can be smug about the $1,000 they owe us, but if they don’t think they have lost future clients because of their shady practices, they are surely mistaken.

Average Service, High Price. Recently used Apulent to cater my wedding. As the last reviewer wrote, I was also told from the event coordinator that they were "one stop shopping" and their job was to eliminate stress and worry from me. This did not happen; I had to do a lot of oversight of this process.

One of the biggies was that I was never told that I needed a liquor permit to serve our own alcohol at the wedding. When I asked, due to prompting from my fiance a few days before the wedding, only THEN was I told I needed this permit. When I mentioned that not being able to serve would have been a big problem, the response I received from my coordinator was "No alcohol would have not been good!"

If alcohol would not have been served at the wedding due to lack of the permit, we'd be in court right now.

Following learning of the permit, I then worried about what else I may not be aware of... Despite multiple emails, pricing on the invoice was wrong, the number of rentals were wrong, etc. Not huge things, but little things, which should have not needed me to catch.

The last reviewer also noted the price. We had light appetizers for a 100 people and the price was $6,000. This included minimal staffing and rentals and did NOT include alcohol.

The staff throughout the process were nice. But, I would expect this from any catering company. From my meetings, I expected squared away staff, that I wouldn't need to "oversee."

Planning a wedding is tough and when a bride finds a vendor, there is a responsibility for that vendor to try and make things easy and "take care" of details so the bride doesn't have to worry about them. Although Apulent was fine, I must say working with them was more time consuming then dealing with any of our other vendors.

For those on a tight budget, my advice is this: people forget the food the minute the wedding is over. If I had it to do over I would consider taking the $6,000 I spent for 100 people, turn it to a cocktail-only event and go on another European Honeymoon. Or, I would go with another caterer, who was less expensive.

AND, my husband also used Apulent to plan a little post party. I will be writing another review to talk about that if they do not respond to his multiple emails...
