The Scene
Located on Ballard's conservative side, this neighborhood favorite combines suburban inoffensiveness with restrained Irish charm. With its fireplace, dark wood interior and menu of hearty Irish cuisine, the Pequliar aims for a cozy, home-away-from-home feel. Nine-to-fivers gather around the many tables beneath old Guinness ads, while upstart students flirt at the bar. There's a patio for summer nights, and a large upstairs game room with pool, darts and retro video games.
The Draw
For the sweatpants and the college crowd alike, it's an unassuming place to drink, eat, catch up with friends, or watch a game. Regulars don't need to tell the bartender what they're having, and they can probably find their picture on the wall. The Irish-themed menu includes favorites like Irish stew and shepherd's pie, in addition to the requisite salads, nachos and burgers.

This has been my favorite bar in Seattle for years now. The staff is always very friendly. This is a great place to go with friends, play some darts and enjoy a few pints. Adding a pool table to the back room has changed the vibe a little bit and made it feel like a game room but this is still the coolest bar in Seattle.

Where else can you play Trivia with the owner and have him buy you a beer. Carl is hilarious!

This is my neighborhood pub, so I'm biased, but I think OP is a great neighborhood joint...the music's certainly not a big draw. It's one of the only places in Ballard that's not populated with wannabe-hipsters. Just a friendly, laid-back place to hang. Sunday potluck BBQ, Tuesday trivia are the big draws, plus the new well-stocked jukebox and REAL dartboards in back.
