For a taste of Old Ballard, step inside the shop that belongs in a hamlet. Stuffed deer and ram heads and a 4-foot troll are focal points within the otherwise staid decor--encouraging patrons to focus on the merchandise. Owners Solveig and Sverre Hatley grew up in Norway and travel back to Scandinavia each year to find their store's wares. Authentic goods, from rosette-making sets to Torgesen trolls and Dale of Norway sweaters, fill every space.
