Seattle >Habitude at the Locks
I love Kermit and Habitude at the Locks. These guys know what they're doing and I just LOVE my hair. Kermit has been taking care of me for about two years now and I get so many compliments, especially from my husband! And everyone is so nice. Parking is easy, and there's always a ready cup of coffee or tea.
Best Hairstylist around!. I drive all the way from Mill Creek to the Ballard locks to get my hair done at Habitude. Ever since the first time Kermit cut, colored, and styled my hair I've never gone anywhere else. Before Habitude, I tried Gene which was way overpriced and rushed me in and out. Then I tried 7 which only had one good stylist who left. Then I found Kermit at Habitude who charged a fraction of the cost and produced a much better product. He always takes his time to listen to exactly what I want, gives great advice and then teaches me how to actually do my hairstyle at home! He's amazing with color and keeps up on all the latest hair trends. Updo's are another one of his specialties and again cost way less than some of the high end salons. I would never go to anyone else! Recently, I also sent my husband in for a hot rock massage and he loved it! He said it was the best birthday gift ever.
Gel Nail Lacquer Rocks!!!!!.
For years I would "drive" by Habitude and always wondered about it and what services they had to offer. I am a natural nail fanatic, and I have never had nail enhancements..... so I love the idea and phylsophy behind Habitude and Aveda.
My only disappointment, in getting my nails done, for years was the fact that as soon as you get a manicure with polish start to chip! I was so excited last February to find out that OPI had created a long lasting Gel Nail Lacquer, that wouldn't damage the nail bed, doesn't chip and wears at least 2 - 3 weeks.... sometimes I can even get 3 1/2 to 4 weeks and that's unheard of!
I searched and searched trying to find a place that offered this service and was surprised to find that Habitude around the corner was now offering it, starting this past September 2009. I called up at the beginning of September and had my first experience with Habitude... and let me tell you it was an experience. I was greeted in the loby (of which there is great retail shopping) and was guided up to the spa! I had arived early, so I had time to take a herbal steam before my mani and Pedi, what a treat! Having never been to habitude before I let the receptionist schedule me with whom she thought was best. I am now a FAN of JENNY!!!!! She answered all my questions and gave me the best pedicure I have ever had, and I have had TONS!!!! and one more thing....... no more day long until my manicure chips any more..... My nails looks fresh and beautiful for 3 WEEKS!!!! how awsome. You should really schedule an appointment with Jenny or any of the Habitude nail techs! They know what they are doing!
LOOOOOOOVE HABITUDE!. I just moved to Idaho and now go to a new salon, a very nice one in fact but it does not EVEN compare to habitude salon. I am always looking forward to the next time I will get to visit the salon as I was going there for almost two years and always would leave saying I think this is my most favorite cut & color! Everyone who works at habitude is so friendly and the salon is so calming and relaxing, there were plenty of times I could've taken a nap after herbal tea, a head massage and from relaxing on their big comfy couches. Kermit is the stylist that does my hair and he is a very lovable and humorous person so not only do I look forward to getting my hair done but I also look forward to visiting and catching up with a friend! Also, they use Aveda products which are earth friendly and smell SO good. Before I came to this salon I often times was anxious for my hair to be done but you will not want to leave this place! I highly recommend Kermit- you will not leave Habitude disappointed.
Pamper yourself in style.
First of all, this is a lovely salon/spa-the atmosphere is enjoyable and all the employees I encountered were so friendly and helpful, that I felt very much at home.
Kermit gave me an outstanding cut & style, he does a killer scalp massage too! He even provided a few suggestions on how to style it myself and tips to handle certain little "quirks" of my hair.
I've only been here a few times, but each was a good experience and I'm always happy with the way my hair looks and feels!
I would highly recommend this salon, especially Kermit, for a hair appointment!!
great place in ballard. I've been going to this salon for a few years, stylists do leave frequently , but I recently started seeing Candice one of the new talent stylists. She does an amazing job, she always listens and she seems to really know a lot about what she is doing. She isn't pushy with the products, but also seems very educated about the Aveda product line. She's been doing my foils and cut for a while now and my hair looks way better than it has in a long time. I have curly hair and it has seen some bad days, but Candice just gets it. And her ability to get my super curly hair straight is a real wow!
If you love your wife, get the green Habitude Gift Card!.
I got a Habitude gift card from my husband for my birthday. I was excited to make my appointment for a massage and manicure pedicure. When I got there for my appointments, I was offered tea and escorted to the beautiful and clean locker room. I waited for my massage in the sauna with my tea and forgot for 5 minutes that I am the busiest mom in Ballard. I love to retreat for the day inside the Aveda Atmosphere at Habitude. Ahhhhhh.
My massage was amazing and, just when I thought it couldn't get any better, they refreshed my tea and showed me to the nail area. I sat in the most comfortable chair and was scrubbed and rubbed an polished to perfection with VEGAN NAIL POLISH!! I didn't even know there was such a thing as vegan nail polish, but I know Habitude would be the spa to deliver this kind of customer service.
I hope I don't have to wait a year for my hubby to hand me another coveted green card from Habitude. (Hint Hint)
Best place to escape the rat race!.
I just gave myself the gift of an ultimate deep tissue massage with Savannah. OHMYGOD! I could not believe how incredible the experience was. This girl was committed to makeing me feel better! I went in with my neck and back tied in knots, tension headaches from clenching my jaw at night, and in so much pain from the above that I wasn't even aware that my arthritis was making my hips tight too. By the time she was done, I felt ready to face the world again - well, after I went home and sank into the first good night's sleep I'd had in a long time.
I also saw John in the salon and got a really exciting new cut. It's so ME, and all my friends are oohing and ahhing about it. New color too, and voila! I feel like a new person.
Stress is gone, and I'll be back for another "mini-vacation" next month!
following my stylist. I am a client of Natalie's from the south Puget Sound, and I am following her to Habitude. When I found out she was working there during the week, I was delighted to have an excuse to come to Seattle and treat myself. Besides the fact that the past 2 years of her taking care of my mane has beed the best hair-years of my life, it has also been great to know such a genuine person. She is my monthly dose of positivity and chaos escape. She has already toured me through her new digs at Habitude. Everyone was incredibly freindly, the salon is awesome, the spa is beautiful, and I can't wait to visit my stylist there.
great color, finally, thank god..... Just had a great color with a stylist (Natalie) who I met previously for only a bang trim......she is really really nice, stylish, and gave me not only the color I have been looking for forever, but explained to me why it worked so well., since I had previously struggled to explain what I wanted at other salons.......she also arranged a complimentary nail buffing and hand massage with a nail person upstairs while my color was working....how nice! Spa people upstairs were very professional and the space was beautiful.
