Seattle >Habitude at the Locks
*****HORRIBLE SERVICE AND BUSINESS ETHICS***** Please take this warning and book with an actual high end salon. Do not waste your time or money by scheduling a day for yourself (aka a foil, haircut, and wax) unless you want to leave almost 7 hours later with a poor foil, no haircut or waxing, and dripping wet un-styled hair. If you make the mistake of expecting professionalism and then ask to speak to someone to obtain a mutual resolution before paying FULL PRICE FOR ALL SERVICES (even though 2 out of the 3 services where never preformed) be prepared to be chastised then be sorely disappointed again with Habitude. Shame on you Scott C. for calling yourself a director of anything.
Never Again. My hair looked terrible when i left the salon, my make up made me look like a teenage girl going to my prom. Not to mention they treated me worse when I asked them to curl my hair they said it would be more, and I said forget it. Then they when I didn't tip the stylist walked away without another word. This was very unprofessional in my opinion.
I got a deal for this place on living social. I came in and the woman greeting me was pleasant and got me some tea and showed me around. I got my hair done and it looked great. The next part blows my mind.
Thier "make-up guy" was ridiculous. The first thing he does is criticizes my skin and makes me feel a little self concious. It was almost rude! He tries to tell me what skin products he thinks I should use. Then he starts to do the makeup and asks me what I use at home. While doing this he is going on and on about himself and what he did with his friends this weekend, blah, blah....I don't care! He then insults me by saying that everything I use at home and my "technique" is no good for me. What the hell would you know? You aren't even that good at makeup!
Here's where it gets interesting: he gives me HIS PERSONAL business card for his "artistry" freelance company saying he will come to me for weddings, special events, etc. Really dude, really? Does Habitude know you do this????? I take his card and put it away with no intention to call, ever.
I go to pay and I am standing at the counter for awhile as 2 girls ARGUE over who is going to ring me up. Finally a girl comes up completely annoyed that she has to help me. As she is ringing me up I see the makeup guy watching me. As we are finishing up he comes up at me and asks me if I am getting the items he set aside for me. TACKY!!!!
I was also annoyed that they show you 3 options for the free shampoo and of course the "good" one is unavailable. Don't offer it if you don't have it!
Face book Smile of the day (Pro White Teeth.C0M ). have to pass the word on about a teeth whitening product that will change your smile forever,i was on my face book page and found Pro White Teeth .c0m and they have the smile of the day,so i look on there web site and saw all these beautifull white smiles, this product works both myself and my sister now my mom have tried this product and it does wonders,i just had to tell everyone about it,now Habitude at the locks(great business) can keep doing miracles everyday and now your teeth can look amazing, mine came out 7-10 times whiter
spa in the city. the products here are very good, organic and natural smells are much nicer to have around instead of the same old potpourri grandma had back in her house. I went just for an easy treatment to enjoy my vacation and felt very good about my choice of spa. I will for sure be visiting again soon.
Once a huge fan, but won't ever go back.. I hate to write such a negative review for an establishment that I've supported for years. I used to go to the salon in Fremont, and have bought numerous gift certificates from Ballard. Christmas '09 my sister and I bought a Living Social certificate for a Rainforest spa treatment in Ballard. When we called to make our appointments we were treated with a huge *sigh* and told that because we purchased our package from Living Social, they were only allowing appointments during restricted times and limiting how many they were booking for in a month. She actually told us how annoyed they all were with the Living Social deal and how she was frustrated with all of the people calling. We weren't able to book for over 6 months out. We called back a few times to see if they could accommodate us sooner, but every time was told that we had to keep the appointment we had--that they weren't booking anymore appointments for Living Social customers and it was based on cancellations only. I emailed the Living Social site, and Habitude. LS was very accommodating, apologized for our treatment and offered a refund. Habitude wrote and apologized, and assured me they wouldn't treat us any differently as Living Social customers (but didn't offer a refund). Flash forward months ahead and to make a long story short, the all the people offering services were "cool" toward us, to say the least. Even the girls that bring you to the room and show you how to use the lockers and showers. They all just seem unhappy or something. When my sister was entering her massage, her therapist actually said "so...you bought this through Living Social, right?". My body massage included a head massage. This was a nightmare. The oil was too hot, and after she poured it on my head, she tried to brush it through my really curly hair, which had become a tangled mess. She literally spent the majority of the massage trying to work the mats out of my hair and apologizing. We ran out of time for the scalp massage. The facial was ok, but the part that turned me off was they hard up sell to purchase an additional peel, which is totally awkward and added stress for me. All in all, I'm sure they're hope was to drive new business with the Living Social deal, when ultimately they ended up losing me, my sister, my mom and my neice. We were disappointed in the entire experience. Even the smoothie was warm. :( Sigh.
Respite in the city - a spa oasis.
I love coming to habitude, knowing they are using natural and organic products, taking care of the environment and hiring personable, talented employees.
I've been coming to Habitude (both Ballard and Fremont) for years. mostly for haircuts, and a color now and then, but also have had an Ultimate Spa Pedicure and manicure, a massage and facial (one of the daily deals off Living Social) and really enjoyed every treatment I've had.
I recommend Ballard for the more spa-full experience, and Fremont for the basics. they are both great though!
John is a gem...Discover him at Habitude!. John has been coloring and cutting my hair for several years now, with spectacular results-that's why I keep coming back all the way from the east coast. John is experienced, creative and professional. He listens to my ideas, offers his honest opinions, and then helps me achieve my hair style goals. John's color results are dazzling, natural and healthy looking. His meticulous cuts flatter my face shape, and are so easy to maintain I have that just-seen-John look between visits. And I get to see him at Habitude, in such a warm and welcoming environment. My Habitude experience is always tremendous. John is a gem. Discover him, just not when I need him on my west coast visits!
great pedicure in a relaxing environment. This was my first visit to the spa, and I had an Essential Pedicure with Dawn. She did a great job and my feet and lower legs feel very pampered and well-taken-care-of! I was early for my appointment, but it was no problem for them to set up and take care of me right away. I was the only person in the nail area, so it was very quiet and relaxing, with a hot cup of tea in my hands. Dawn paid great attention to my feet and toenails and gave me a wonderful massage, which felt so nice, especially since i work retail and am hard on my legs and feet. She did a perfect polish job and at the end of my pedicure, gave me a tour of the spa area as well, which includes lockers and showers and a sauna. The pedicure was not the cheapest, but they clean and sterilize all their tools between each client, and I'd rather spend a little more and make sure I have sterilized equipment being used on me, so it was worth it. When it came time to check out, everyone was very friendly and attentive and didn't try to hard-sell me on products or anything like that. I would definitely consider returning to the spa, this time with a friend in tow!
John Simmons is Amazing!!. John is truly an artist! I've been going to John for several years, and ALWAYS get a great cut. My friends all comment on my hair. If I want a change, he listens, offers suggestions, and gives me just what I want or even better! I recently learned that he trained extensively in London and Paris - no wonder my hair cuts are fabulous! He puts so much energy into cutting hair. The added bonus is that he's a great guy to talk to!! Do yourself a favor and go to John!
