User review by amcinern. On May 12th, 2006, we had the pleasure of dining here in celebration of our wedding. My husband and I wanted to express our compliments to the wait staff and Management of Chandlers Crabhouse. We enjoyed a warm reception from the receptionist and were treated to a wonderful table with a lovely view of the Sound. Our server, Jake, was polite and attentive and catered to our every request. We were pleasantly surprised that our wedding cake (which we brought with us) was presented on a platter and the Manager, Larry, assisted with cutting and serving the cake. The food was absolutely exquisite and our experience a dream! The perfect evening to our wedding day.
Live Outdoor Music. The food is priced in keeping with the view from its location on the water among the yachts. We enjoy the acoustic duos outdoors with the propane heaters if it's chilly. Nice loose atmosphere and good service.
The Service. I have experienced the wonders of Chandlers when I first visited them in 1997. I have only praise for this restaurant. Being from out of state, I always visit them whenever Im in Seattle. A Saturday evening, 10/15/05, was no exception. The food and the atmosphere have always been wonderful, but what ties it all together is the service. My server for that evening, Kerry G., was cheerful, attentive, and very helpful. The other wait-staff assisting were also efficient and friendly as well, even though it was a busy Saturday evening. My previous visits also yielded great, friendly service. Being a lone diner sometimes may elicit poor service at other establishments, but not at Chandlers. A lone diner, like myself, is made to feel welcomed. I am looking forward to my next visit. Thank You Chandlers and Thank You Kerry for A GREAT EVENING.
Best In Seattle. Great place to visit any day of the week. Their seafood is the freshest I have found and the menu changes with the season so there is alway's something new to try. The relaxed upscale atmosphere and the very friendly staff make one of my favorites. Happy hour twice a day every day is a great way to save some money and experience some of their menus appetizers. Reservations I do recomend for prime time dining. but the beautifull lounge is an alternative to the dining room. Food cippino, pranwns and scallops entrees. Drinks definetly the strawberry martini or the lemon drop. I take all my clients here for lunch and dinner. Haven't tried the brunch but my friends say it's top notch.
The best seafood game in town!. I went to Chandler's last night and the food was amazing. My friend and I shared the seafood bisque, the crabcakes and then the prawn & scallop raviolli over asapargus with a light cream sauce - to die for! The service was incredile, the wine recommendation perfect. I just love the way they make you feel when you walk through the door, everyone says hello, good evening and good night. It's just top rate.
pricey but worth it. Speaking for the happy hour crowd I give Chandler's two thumbs up. The bar is classy but not stuffy. Food and drink is not cheap but during the happy hour a lot of appetizers are half price and martinis are about six bucks. The view of Lake Union is awesome especially if you're wining and dining on the sun deck on a warm sunny day (and the views of Courtney and Illiana are easy on any guy's eyes).
Crushingly average. We took out of town guests based on the strength of this and other reviews. We were disappointed at the unexceptional nature of our meal. My wife's entree was cold. Mine was flavorless. I didn't taste those of our guests, but in retrospect am kinda' glad I didn't. If you can think of a better option, go there. Chandler's should be your seafood 'port of last resort.'
Skeptical, but pleasantly surprised. I was skeptical when I saw Chandlers at the top of the Best of Seafood ratings, but decided to give the updated version a try. I'd been there years before and found it acceptable but not a place for a special occasion. This time we were very impressed. Service was very friendly, although the server disappeared for long spells. The food was high quality, reasonable portions, fresh and tasty. Prices were in the mid-premium range, but not unexpectedly high. Overall a great experience.
They take requests. I go there often because I like fish. Well, there is a lot of places in Seattle to eat fish at, the nice thing about Chandlers is that I can tell them how I want it. Last time I was there I told the waiter "just grill an halibut fillet and put it on the plate with oil and lemon". There was an immediate "ok" answer. It's just that easy to please a customer sometimes!
Waited over an hour. ade patio dinner reservations at 6pm for two. Arriving at 6pm we were told no tables were presently available, but a table should be open in about 15 min. Over an hour later, after being promised several times that a table was about to become available were told, "It looks like nothing is going to be opening up on the patio, would you like to be seated inside?" As we were being seated the hostess suggested to the manager that we should be given an appetizer or drinks to make up for our wait, as we had a reservation - the manager nodded. I spent $80 on a so-so dinner and got nada. I will not be back.
