Editorial Review for Teacup – by Helen Holter

The Scene
With java joints on both sides and two more down the street, Teacup can't help but stand out. It truly isn't easy being green--green tea that is--when everyone around you is jumpin' and jivin' with java. Choose from more than 125 teas, then head home to brew your own or relax with a pot of tea and cookies in the store's tearoom, watching the Queen Anne crowd pass by.

The Goods
Don't you dare utter 'Lipton' around here. Some of the tastiest and most unusual teas around the world are here, from the store's most popular--Phoenix Dragon Pearl at $85 per pound--to mocha hazelnut, a favorite caffeine-free herbal tea. Most teas are hand-picked, and range from green, oolong and black tea to mate (alternative caffeinated Argentinean tea), herbal, decaf and French Damman teas. Save 10 percent when you buy one pound or more, or save 20 percent on the featured tea-of-the-month.

A friend told me about this tea shop (I didn't know there were tea shops...dumb me)...and later we went here several times to study. The staff is so nice and helpful...they have really good tea and desserts are awesome. The vibe here is so relaxed and nice. It's a really good place to study or hang out with friends over some tea. A very good place to go.

Pros: Great tea, huge variety to choose from, good desserts
