Invaluable asset to FOODIES and vegetarians.
Stayed in Seattle for a day en-route to Alaska cruise and was suggested this by a pharmacist at a local Walgreens. Being Jewish we wanted kosher food and this place was perfect.
Food is vegetarian and tastes fantastic, and family was more than overjoyed.
Price was modest and think we shall visit Seattle once again , just to sample the food here and the beer at Hale's Ale!
Cheers!
Not just for vegans & vegetarians.
After years of having 1-2 options on a menu I was seriously overwhelmed by the multiple pages of delicious, fully vegan dishes I had to choose from. When my Mom & I went we each ordered 2 dishes, both because we couldn't pick just 1 & because the dishes weren't much $. After my (extremely carnivous) husband tried my left overs he agreed to give it a try and was also impressed. He likes the kung pao chicken and says it reminds him of chicken mcnuggets (texture). Since then I've gone back many times and got many friends and family members, most not vegetarians, hooked on the simply but extremely tasy dishes.
The service is almost always fantastic too. Usually we've received our meal (4 dishes, at least) within 10 minutes of sitting down. But I will say that sometimes we've had slow service and 1 or 2 times out waiter/ress seemed like they weren't too into serving us, thats a pretty rare occurence though and everyone has an off night.
I highly reccomend going, even if you're not vegan/ vegetarian!
Heaven?. When I moved to Seattle almost 6 years ago I decided to go vegan and this was the first place I ate at. Hold on my mouth is watering just thinking about it. (Ok, regaining composure.) The staff is so sweet and will recognize you as a regular by welcoming you back! The menu has A LOT to offer. It is based off of the seven weeks of vegetarianism that the emperor was required to practice before making the annual prayer for the kingdom's prosperity. From "chicken" to "beef" to "seafood," add noodles and rice or just enjoy a delicious all veggie dish! Warning! This place can get busy so its a good idea to make a reservation. Another fabulous thing to tell you! They are open until 10p and they offer take out. Oh and corn chowder. Oh me, oh my....the corn chowder.
Yum Yum. Don't be a jerk...this place is great! It's definitely not 5 star dinning but is chinese food ever! If you had a few to many drinks the night before you have to go to bamboo Garden! It's a real treat for us vegetarians to enjoy some delicious fried chicken that actually taste good! I'm no fan of fake meat but there's is special...try the sweet and sour chicken oh and also the almond chicken. Yum.
I can order anything on the menu!.
This is an exciting statement to make if you are vegetarian or vegan. The food is delicious, we always try something new and have yet to be dissapointed.
I don't know what another post said about paying to park in their lot - we always park in their lot and have never had a problem and have never been asked to pay. The service is always friendly; sure sometimes there is a language barrier - but I don't think we have ever received the wrong dish.
The decor could be updated a smidge, but other than that I love Bamboo Garden.
hard come back.
hardly go back there to have that kind of food again. First of all, all meals have broccoli only as a side dish. we had stir fry with broccoli, hot pots w broccoli. So my recommendation is when you choose you meal ask side dishes. The smell in restaurant is like coming out from somewhere not from restaurant.
please do not come there choose somewhere
Hot food yum yum. My boyfriend and I were visiting Seattle and decided to try the Bamboo Garden. We both ordered hot pots (I Szechwan tofu, him peanut chicken), they came to the table sizzling hot and delicious! The flavors were kind of similar, so we debated on whether they mixed up the sauces, but either way they were both so yummy. We also ordered a $1 side of jasmine rice (which could easily serve four people), and I got a cup of corn chowder. The chowder was a little thick but really amazing. Overall I was really satisfied and I would totally come back. Note: This place is stuck in the 70's when it comes to decorations, so don't come here looking for a romantic date or high end dinner. Also, language barriers may arise, stick to saying the numbers next to the food you want when ordered.
Not a fan. There are few vegetarian only places, reason stands that vegetarians should support what little resources we have so devoted to us. But I really can't stand behind this place. The atmosphere is just shy of prison. The food is overproduced, greasy and missing flavor. Skip it. There are much better places to visit.
Decent Veg Food; Dismal Service. Their food tastes good but may leave you feeling queasy, especially if you have a sensitive tummy. If you do, stay away from the breaded/fried food like Sweet and Sour Chicken, and go for stir-fry instead. My food today was served only partially heated. But that's the first time it's ever happened to me there. What is more regular are impatient waiters, who may be unavailable or can be difficult to deal with (depends who). As a female, I notice that I always get better service if I come with a man (and it doesn't matter how many years I've been going there, this is still the case). Due to the language barrier, there may be some problems with orders (often wrong) or reservations (also problems here, even if you are clear and confirm). But, the food arrives in reasonable time and is totally vegan (hard to find in Seattle).
Vegan kosher Chinese... wow!. I had dinner here recently with two friends from the East Coast who both keep kosher; plus, one of them is a vegetarian (so am I). Seattle doesn't have very many options when it comes to kosher food, especially meatless kosher, and we are so glad we found Bamboo Garden! We ordered a tofu and vegetables soup to share and a variety of fake chicken dishes (General Tsao's, a noodle dish, and a chicken and vegetables dish). One of my friends asked for her dish to be prepared mild, but when she tasted it, it was much hotter than my food, which I ordered "medium." When she pointed out the problem, the staff promptly replaced her food. Other that, everything was great! We came in about 30 minutes before the restaurant was supposed to close. They didn't rush us and let us talk and enjoy the food, which was tasty and plentiful.
