Three Words. "orange 'chicken' balls." This place is amazing. I feel like I'm on vacation every time I'm there. Everyone I've taken there has become a fan, without fail. And it has parking!

Fake, real...whatever.. Good Eats is Good Eats. This place is a lifesaver for vegans and good enough for any open-minded omnivore. As far as the other folks who say the "meats" are all alike, I don't agree at all, and for those who say it's too bland...There's chili sauce on the table, Genius! I can, however, see how some people are put off by the service. No matter how long the servers have been there, it always seems like it's their first night. They're a little awkward and ridiculously attentive in a way I think is really endearing, but if you think it would be weird for you, I recommend ordering to-go. If you'd rather eat there, the ambience is friendly, not romantic. You go here with the people you love, not the people you're trying to impress. BTW-get the brown rice- it goes better with the food!

Much Better Now. I am updating my review since i have been there quite a few times now. I have a much better impression than the first time. The service has been better and although some dishes are still bland, others are good. Get the spiciest dishes you can, for more flavor. Also, stay away from the fake meat dishes and just get tofu or mushroom. These dishes tend to be better. Also, make sure to get the corn chowder and put a BUNCH of Sriracha.

good veg food/bad chinese food. If you're looking for decent vegetarian food, this is a good place, but if you're looking for anything remotely close to authentic chinese food - STAY AWAY! All the dishes taste more or less the same, and they seem to use a "boiler plate" of veggies/fake meat, and just switch around the sauces. If you really want vegetarian chinese, go to a regular chinese restaurant and order whatever they have without meat. If you keep kosher or you're vegetarian and you don't mind sacrficing authenticity and flavor, this is your place.

Brings veggies and meat-eaters together!. As a vegan, it can be difficult for me to find food I can eat when we eat out. Thankfully, Bamboo Garden exists to fill the void when I have had all I can take of side salads and baked potatoes. Finally, a restaurant where I can eat EVERYTHING on the menu!

That said, the cuisine is good enough to fool many of the meat-eaters I have brought there. All of the fake meats are prepared on-site, and they do a masterful job.

Every time we have gone there, we have been treated like VIPs. In fact, they have a banquiet room that we frequently reserve for big family dinners. Highly recommended!

This meat-eater's secret hangout. Bamboo Garden rules! I am not a vegetarian, but these friendly folks consistently turn out mouthwatering, high-quality Chinese dishes with soy-protein synthetic "meat" that would fool a cattle rancher. I've had virtually every "meat" they offer, and it's all irresistible, even their "salmon." Never oily or heavy; they always use a light, skilled touch, even with deep-fried offerings. Be certain to order one of their dessert nut puddings along with your dinner to give them extra time to prepare them -- the addictive almond and pecan puddings are worth fighting the Seattle Center gridlock for just by themselves.

Best veggy restaurant for non-vegetarian. These guys are masters of vegetarian meat, this is a great spot to bring non-vegetarians to appreciate veggy cooking. My daughter is a new vegetarian and enjoys this as she is getting used to no meat.

One of my favorite Seattle restaurants!. I've been to Bamboo Gardens many, many times and I've always received good service and excellent food. I can't think of a time when I wasn't very pleased with it all. Even non-vegetarians love this place. :) And there's parking - a BIG plus.

Yes, thanks!. The fake meat is great, if you're vegan. Meat eaters know it's not meat..but many love it anyway! Many of the dishes are similar, so order by selecting the main ingredient you would like and working from there.

Three items I suggest:

1. Chicken with Snow Peas and nuts (this is FABULOUS!)

2. Gourmet Chow Mein (I have them add black bean sauce..soooooo tasty!)

2. A soup with vegetables. The "Daily Soup" is a thick creamy soup without much flavor. I get it anyhow, because I love the red chili sauce they have at every table.. you add a little of that and it's a tasty creamy treat!

Mmm . . . tofu.. Downright decent vegan chinese food, but not the best that I have had. I enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken quiet a bit, but the non-fried dishes were surprisingly disappointing. It's worth a visit, though.
