What Our Expert Scouts Say

Ochre colored walls and all sorts of wrought iron art set the scene at this large lower QA room. The margs and meals are plentiful as is a non stop high energy crowd.

Go for the weekday Breakfast Happy Hour, a great deal for soaking up last night's excess. Or to start you down that road again.

Brunch, lunch, happy hour, dinner... Pesos is a great lower queen restaurant bar. The vibe is loud, the margaritas are cold.

Negative atmosphere negates cheap eats. If you are white, pretentious, and only go to restaurants to see and be seen than this is the place for you. The service was fairly poor ? we saw our waitress about three times in the 90 minutes we were there. Granted, we did go during happy hour on Saturday afternoon so we were not expecting much. The food was just okay, but again we were not expecting much since it was happy hour. The price point of $4 to $5 per plate was reasonable. I was confused as to why a table of 40-somethings were allowed to have their dogs in the lounge with them. Confusion turned to disgust when I realized that they also had a bowl of water and bowl of food out for the dogs. I like dogs as much as the next person; I just don?t think they belong in restaurants. The crowning moment was when my femme girlfriend and I (also femme) had the D-Bomb hurled at us while we were exiting the lounge... twice by two different people. I realize this was not Peso?s fault ? but I refuse to give money to an establishment that caters to patrons of this caliber. A $5 mediocre tamale is not worth it when it is accompanied by homophobic slurs.

No way, there are better places to eat in Queen Anne. You have got to be kidding me! I use to be a long standing Pesos customer, I put up with a lot of bad service, mediocre food and loud music. But now it has gotten to the point where it?s not worth my life to eat there. When they learn how to control the bloody fights, and drunk customers I may go back?.If I want Mexican food I?ll go to Jaliscos or get great food in my neighborhood at Ascada Bistro, 10 Mercer, Chopsticks or Kid Valley.

Good Food; Nice Atmosphere. I've only eaten here 2 times, and while the service was a little slow, it was around lunchtime both times and they were crowded. Didn't have a problem with the service or the staff, that I can recall. If you're in a hurry, probably not the best place to go at lunch, but it does have good music and good atmosphere. Food is good, and not expensive. I'd say defintiely give it a shot at least once.

Breakfast Host/ Bartender Guy Has GOT to GO!. We showed up on a slow weekday morning to check out the Breakfast Happy Hour. It was anything BUT happy. Some guy from back by the kitchen door and the bar area came striding up and told us in a really condescending way that dogs are not allowed and we could not bring a dog into the restaurant - while our SERVICE ANIMAL is sitting there calmly sporting an official red vest with the very words written on it. I tried to explain that he's a service animal, and the guy LAUGHS a little, moves toward me a little menacingly, and says, 'yeah, well you're going to have to leave." I tell him it's discriminatory to disallow access, etc. and ask may I speak to the manager. Some OTHER guy back by the bar/ kitchen door area calls him back there and they begin a discussion. Then, while a woman steps up and vaguely appears to be trying to figure out where to seat us (while the rude guy is back there), a manager-type guy emerges and escorts us to a table. We are assigned to yet another guy who waits on us with the most detached manner ever. Although the place wasn't busy at all, the service was slow - but it felt like it maybe was the kitchen and not the waiter who was slow, but who knows? We had a lot of time to think about what the rude guy might have been doing to our food in the back. We were there as part of a day-long birthday celebration, and our experience at Peso's really put a big damper on the start of our day.

P.S. We hadn't even thought to check and see if an 'extra' tip had been added onto our receipt by a Peso's employee after we left, but after reading these other reviews, we'll be sure to look now... and not go back.

Great happy hour...but POOR service. I love the atmosphere, great location in Queen Anne, and awesome Happy Hour specials. But please do something about the service...new waitresses, new host - new staff!!! I recommend this place only if you can handle rude service :)

Though its garishness provides laughs for Greek-system grads, this Mexican eatery serves up a serious education in spice.. In Short
The high ceiling is lipstick-red, cheesy bullfight art covers the lounge's back wall and the back bar couldn't be gaudier. It's tawdry--and fun. The fare presents few surprises, except for its spiciness. Unlike family-oriented Mexican places, this joint holds nothing back. Carne asada (broiled flank steak) and camarones al mojo de ajo (grilled shrimp in garlic butter) come in two versions: standard and diablo (with that devilish roasted habanero sauce).

Good food loud music. Had the seafood enchiladas. . . tasted great. If you're young and beautiful, this is the place for you because it's more like a dance club that serves good food. The service is slow, but that's because it's so full. Sit in the dining room and get there early if you want to hear the person next to you because by 9pm, the music is turned up to illegal decibels and the place is unofficially a dance club by 11pm. Had fun because I was in a party mood. Not for older crowds in the evenings. The carne asada is fabulous too.

yummy!. Great drinks, very crowded, but only waited a few minutes for a table. The steak nachos were out of this world. I had the chicken quesadilla, very good. My friend had the fajitas and the chicken was tasty and plentiful! Great service! Our waitress was friendly and quick. Great music. Loved it!!
