Real People-Real Beer

Too many bars and pubs in the Seattle area are viscious meat-market scenes where just popping in for a brew, a burger, and good conversation with complete strangers is too often unsuccessful.

THIS BAR ROCKS. Good, cheap beer(especially for the Queen Anne area), satisfying edible fare and excellent service makes Hoyt's one of the old-school neighborhood pub variety.

Saturday night $2 Redhook ESB's made our night a cheap one.

Where else you gonna go?

For good pool tables on Queen Anne this is it. The atmosphere is pleasing, sports games are on the tv's, the prices are reasonable, the pool games are .75c. The servers and bartenders are way too casual. You have to be aggressive in getting their attention and asking for what you want; after that the service is fine. I didn't have the food but my friends said it was good, altho fries looked greasy and overcooked. No smoking till after 10 pm. The pool tables are too close to the walls and shots are frequently difficult.

• Pros: cheap pool games, nice atmosphere, not too loud
• Cons: no smoking till 10, mediocre service, lousy pool setup
