Editorial Review for Hilltop Ale House – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
This is where people go for a brew and a meal, but the usual burgers and pizza won't do. Expect pub fare like baked goat cheese salad and Hilltop Halibut Cakes with sake-citrus sauce. While the menu here doesn't track 74th Street Ale House's precisely, the two places share many items, including gumbo and a signature chicken sandwich.

This has been my favorite pub for over 10 years........and now I live in QA so I am really happy! The food is way beyond pub fare; everything is VERY well done, albeit somewhat of a bias for spicey; good for some, not all. I personally love the burger.........in fact, it's one of the best I've ever encountered. Start with a large quality beef patty, grill with fresh onions, bell peppers on a fresh roll topped with your favorite cheese.......and order with the gumbo........wow! Can only be topped with a Guiness.

Pros: great food, excellent beer selection on tap, and friendly, effecient service

Cons: can be a bit loud...but it is a pub

Great beer, great rotating special meals, fun and comfy atmosphere. I love this place. The Guinness is the best Guinness in Seattle (it's on Nitro). :)

Pros: Beer, Food, Comfy fireplace in back

Cons: Can get busy at times, but that just means having a beer while you wait :)
