If you're craving Chinese and in Lower Queen Anne, then grab a table at Uptown. House pickled veggies shine as a side to the duck rolls. Full bar, clean and reliable, you'll be satisfied!
Poor service with an attitude on top!. Disappointed! If you're looking for zombie like service with no class or character, then this may be the place for you. We waited forever for our food only to be served cold chicken Lomein and cold fried rice. the rest of our order wasn't even ready. We complained to the owner/manager lady but she could almost care less. This restaurant might have been a good place to eat a few years back but I personally wouldn't give it another try.
Poor service. Very slow service. Food was OK. Went there for lunch hour and was pressed to get to work on time.
Absolutely THE BEST!. I've been a patron for a few years now and thoroughly enjoy myself each time. The food is fantastic. The drinks are spot on and the customer service is SUPREME! I enjoy mingling with the Staff and Patrons, who are always welcoming and friendly. And I have yet to bring a friend or family member with me who didn't enjoy themselves! Hats off UpTown! We love you!
Seattle's Best Chinese Food.
This is a Chinese restaurant that bends over backwards to make your dinner spiced just the way you like it! From the fabulous soups (hot and sour seafood, hot sour, won ton) to the fried chicken wings, everything hits the spot.
The lunch menu is priced right and provides a huge amount of food.
I've NEVER had even a slightly off meal here. Everything is spot on, every time.
Terrible, Eat At Your Own Risk!. Terrible food and even worse customer service. Our first experience at Up Town China resulting in having to send one of the dishes back... it was literally the consistency of shoe leather. We eat out regularly and are NOT picky, uptight patrons at all. As a matter of fact, I've only sent food back one other time in my life (because it was undercooked). Ok, so maybe this was just a fluke, so a couple months later we decide to give Uptown China a second chance and had some food delivered. Boy was that a mistake! We ordered Kung Pao Chicken and instead recieved, well... I'm not sure what it was, but it definitely wasn't Kung Pao Chicken! We politely called and told them about the mistake and requested that they credit us back for the cost of the "mystery meat" we clearly didn't order. They refused. After 15 minutes of arguing we finally hung up in frustration. It's amazing that a place like this can even stay in business. Eat at Uptown
Disappointing Chinese food.. Ordered a take out and was very disappointed in the quality and quantity of their lunch special. I ordered hot&sour soup was acceptable, chang sa chicken - partially raw (is it ok to eat partially raw chicken?), vegetables were soggy and the spinach was clumped into a bundle, egg roll had no flavor and was not crispy, fried rice was actually not bad but was only good for a couple of bites and then it was gone (a little too stingy on the rice), over all I woudn't recommend this place to any of my friends. Disappointing. I guess back to Subway.
Disappointing.
After reading through the reviews here I decided to give Uptown a try for a date night. The reviews I read here to not match the experience we had. In short, we were quite disappointed with this establishment.
We arrived to a nearly deserted establishment which seemed odd at first. Turns out we were on the leading edge of the dinner rush. Get there early or expect a serious wait. Parking is slim with no handicap parking availiable at the restraunt. Despite being so quiet there was trash on the floor. We were seated at a table for two butted up against the wall. This resulted in one person having to fight with the wall to eat their food.
We started out with the vegatable spring roll appetizer. The rolls were nicely cooked with a crispy exterior and soft interior. The vegetables were finely sliced but had minimal flavoring. The accompanying sauces were of adequate quantity with a nice presentation of mustard dolluped in the sweet sauce.
For dinner my date had the Almond Chicken and I had the Sizzling Chicken. As expected, the Almond Chicken was tender with a crispy bread crumb exterior. The sauce was bland and barely warm. The almonds were stale. My Sizzling chicken was disappointingly mild with little sauce. The dish itself was cooked adequately it just lacked flavor.
Quantity of both dishes was more than adequate. Good strategy if you choose to eat here is to agree upon on main dish and a side like rice. Unlike most Chinese restraunts all dishes are ala carte. There is no dinner plate that includes an entree, rice, & soup. Everything is seperate.
Overall it is below average when compared to other Chinese restraunts in the greater Seattle area. This lackluster rating is primarily due to its price versus lack of quality coupled with a wholly ala carte menu. Restroom facilities mirrored the lack of attention to food quality. I would probably not return on another date night.
Great American Chinese Food.
Best place for american chinese food outside of Chinatown. It not that far from my apt. Staff is always so friendly. I love the almond fried chicken. I never had a problem ever. This place is great.
My company came here once for a goodbye lunch. There were 25 of us and no one had any problems.
Superb Chinese Food; Great Service. This is probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. Great food---especially the lunch special. Nice people. Excellent service. Good menu selections. I always look forward to when my schedule brings me to this part of town so I can have lunch or dinner here.
Best in QA. I have been trying to get good chinese here for over a year now. Uptown is close. It is good quality food, albeit a bit expensive. Service is good. Parking is a big plus. Food has generous portions of meat, and is freshly made. Better than average.
