Editorial Review for Uptown China Restaurant – by Citysearch Editors
The Scene
The interior is nothing out of the ordinary--nondescript white walls and early '90s accents mask what feels like a former office space--but it doesn't detract from the experience. While the bar side fills with revelers before and after Key Arena and Seattle Center events, the restaurant's tables are full of families and neighborhood locals. Service is generally quick, though can flag when there's a crowd.
The Food
Though not authentic by any means, the menu is dominated by classics that will satisfy any deep cravngs for Chinese food. Most of the menu goes above and beyond the usual humdrum: General Tso's chicken comes with large, satisfying hunks of white meat and a thick, tangy sauce, while the juicy yin and yang prawns, a perpetual special, are enlivened by sweet and spicy flavors. Skip the mediocre appetizers in favor of well-executed hot and sour soup served by the cup.

Insider Tips
When to GoModerately priced lunchtime combos please both the palate and the pocketbook; all combos include an entree of the customer's choice, soup and an egg roll.
What to DrinkComplimentary green tea of course, but this spot also offers a full bar and a decent beer and wine selection. The tasty house cosmopolitan is so large that it comes with a spillover glass.
The ExtrasFree delivery is offered to downtown, Queen Anne and Belltown between 5pm and 9:30pm; there's a minimum $20 order.

This is probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. Great food---especially the lunch special. Nice people. Excellent service. Good menu selections. I always look forward to when my schedule brings me to this part of town so I can have lunch or dinner here.

I have been trying to get good chinese here for over a year now. Uptown is close. It is good quality food, albeit a bit expensive. Service is good. Parking is a big plus. Food has generous portions of meat, and is freshly made. Better than average.
Pros: Food, parking
Cons: Not perfect food but best in the area, price
