In Short
Students, couples and local business folks out on lunch stop in for pizza by-the-slice while watching TV or nestling into booths and flipping through an indy paper. Three to try are the veggie "Tree Hugger," with sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, and artichoke hearts; the meat-laden "Puget Pounder"; and the "Thai One On"; with peanut sauce, chicken, and cilantro.

I have tried Zeeks a few times as there are a couple locations near my house. Everytime I've been there I came away disappointed. The food is terrible. The crust tastes like you are chewing on cardboard. The salads are not very fresh. The prices are exorbitant and the service is only ok at best. I am really surprised they have so many locations because they are consistent. Consistently bad. If you're looking for a good pizza in Seattle, go to Pagliacci's.

I ordered 3 large pizzas from Zeeks Pizza this Monday (Mar 9, 2009) for a church meeting: Tree Hugger, Puget Pounder and Wood Butcher (all premium 'signature' pizzas). We paid over $23.00 for each pizza. The meeting was already in progress when the pizzas arrived (on time) and were set out for the group to eat. The Tree Hugger, which I usually order looked fine, but the other two meat pizzas had toppings only in the center of the large pizzas and nothing in the last 2 to 2 /12" of the perimeter. The portion in the center was adequate, but not what I would expect for a 'signature' pizza (ie fully loaded). While I was unhappy with the pizzas, the meeting was underway and did not finish until some time later, so I did not call Zeeks. I didn't think about the quality of the pizzas until I looked at a pizza a person in line in front of me at Costco was purchasing on Wednesday. I would guess you could call it an extra large pizza that was made by Kirkland (Costco brand). The pizza was loaded with all sorts of meat and veggies ALL the way to the edge of the pizza and sold for $9.99. While I wouldn't try to compare the two pizzas based on 'quality of taste' there was no avoiding the fact there was a huge difference in the amount of product provided. I called Zeeks that night to express my concern. The night manager was understanding and was sorry we were disappointed by the pizza. Guessing that I might be seeking some compensation, he told me that he wished I had called sooner (I assume Monday night) and that if I had, he would have provided some compensation. I left a complaint on Zeeks site in their feedback section and received a call from the day manager on Thursday. He shared the same story as the night manager. I expressed some dismay that their 'policy' of providing compensation was unknown to me and didn't change the fact that the pizzas still remained disappointing in my mind. After further, fruitless, discussion we ended our conversation.

After being abused by the psychotic owner and staff at Bambino's East Coast Pizza just a block or so away, this was a pleasant and delicious experience. Our waitress was very fast and professional. I was in an incredilbe rush, she got our pizza split up into 2 boxes and our check to us in record time. The canadian bacon was very flavorful, the cheese was plentiful, smooth and melty. I live in the neighborhood, and will be going back. Next time, I'll go on a day off and enjoy some beer.
