Crappy Apartments and ever crappier slum... I mean landlord!. Horrible living conditions and a snare-like acceptance policy make for PISSED OFF TENANTS! Shouldn't you want your tenants to WANT to pay you rent every month instead of doing o begrudgingly? One would think so. Not so in the case of RP or Metropolitan Management!

They like pissing tenants off so much that they had to change the name a "structure" of their company because they were getting sued so damn much! SWEEEET!!! Good job, guys!

And going through SEVEN managers in 3 years?! WOW! Excellence isn't a strong enough word! It does no justice to how wonderful it is to be a tenant of Metropolitan management.

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM, THEY WILL SCREW YOU AS IF YOU WERE A TIAJUANA PROSTITUTE AT A DONKEY SHOW!

A little graphic, I know. But I've been living here for a while.....

RP MANAGEMENT = SLUMLORDS. RATING: ZERO STARS I've lived in one of their buildings for nearly 7 years and they have never done anything but jack up the rent and threaten people with eviction. One person complained of water coming in through the fan in the bathroom ceiling and the RP representative said "that's your problem, not ours."

In our building the elevator didn't work for more than a year and several people who are aged or handicapped couldn't navigate the stairs and were trapped. Two were forced to move and one filed suit. Their 'managers' don't live here.

We have black mold in most of the apartments and yet the cause of the leaks - the flat, leaky roof - has not been repaired. They come and patch the ceiling and then the stains and leaks and cracks reappear.

And their representatives can be quite caustic when you point this out to them.

The city inspectors have said that they've rarely seen building code violations so blatant and yet nothing happens. They must have connections.

Avoid, avoid, avoid, at all costs. We simply can't afford a move right now and the location is good.

AVOID! DO NOT MOVE INTO AN RP PROPERTY!!!. Absolutely horrible management! Lived at Stonecliff in Belltown for about 18 months, was a great tenant, and did not get a cent of my $300 deposit back, after a $200 non-refundable "deposit" that was said to be used for cleaning, etc. (So a total of $500 was non-refundable.)

I can understand the $80 to clean the carpet, but 15 hours of work for patching nail holes (about 10 pictures hung) and painting is absolutely ludacris. They also charged me $50 for a broken smoke detector. I checked it prior to leaving and it tested just fine. (Plus, I'd like to see any smoke detector that costs $50.)

They do this because they're immoral and know the pain of getting a lawyer for a scrappy $300 is not likely. My advice to anyone living in an R&P Management building now is to not clean a speck of the place upon moving out because you won't get the deposit back anyway (my place was pretty darn clean upon moving out...), and for those of you lucky enough to research management companies prior to signing a lease, DON'T MOVE IN!

Especially the Stonecliff. It has roaches, and I'm talking about the insects, in addition to the management! Ew!

Beware of vermin....and that's just the management!!. To start with......the manager at the Beacon Crest apartments lied from the start. She said they spray for insect pests every month yet the place is overrun with them.We lived there for six months and it was never done .She also said the apt was cable ready......not even. She said the non-refundable part of the deposit was for cleaning......looking at the lease it's for "administration fees", whatever that means. It was so not awesome when she showed up for the lease signing with five of her buddies waiting in the car and rushed through the intial walk through. I called the main office and complained about the insect pests and the fleas and that I would not move in until it was taken care of. The apt manager acted so surprised that insect pests were present. They actually did take a week off my rent for that. But, the insects came back, very heavily.

While living there, we had to put up with our neighbors constant illegal activities. It was scary to use the laundry room because you never would know when a customer would be down there smoking their products. The neighbors never even tried to be discreet. Selling in the stairwell or running down to a car that pulls up or whistling to customers as they walked by.

At one point the bath tub backed up for no apparent reason. Maintainence could not fix it and said Roto Rooter would be called. Later that evening, after hearing nothing, I called the manager and she claimed to know nothing. She did get Roto Rooter out there that night but it was "too expensive" to have him fix it. Apparently a hole needed to be drilled in the wall to release pressure. So, when RP's maintainence came, instead of patching the hole up when they were done, they put a new medicine cabinet(with no pullknob, of course) over the hole. And since our bathroom was on the other side of the "slinging"neighbors bathroom, we got to hear every hack, effluvia , snort, etc. Disgusting. Even better that the bathroom is attached to the tiny bedroom.

The list could go on.......mold, dumped furniture out front for weeks, pests in the bushes, dog pooh everywhere, GENERAL INCOMPETENCE.

Having read several of these reviews, upon move out, I insisted on a final walk through. As usual, the manager was very condescending and rude because she was running late. Everything with her is an excuse. VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. She can't keep one appointment on time and acts like she's doing you a big favor by even showing up. If you can't keep up with your job, maybe you need a new one! After missing our first move out appointment because I would not wait over 30 minutes for her,(I'm pretty sure she was putting me off on purpose) I called the RP office again to complain. Actually, the man I talked to that time was nice enough although, he seemed very surprised to hear my stories. He said he'd make sure she showed up the next day and do a final walk through and promised he'd get my deposit check out to me on time.

Of course, the apt manager called a half hour before our appointment, wanting to know why I wasn't there. Gee whiz, seriously? Lucky for her, I moved close by and wanted to get it over with so I went right over. She was hanging out with the unsavory neighbors talking about getting beer in Spanish. I understand enough Spanish. Several times the apt manager would hang out with tenants in the main walkway, drinking beer and being loud until after 10pm. One time I even overheard her talking to someone on the phone about signing a lease while she was outside partying. Again, VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

Anyway, the WORST LIVING EXPERIENCE I ever had!

But I did get a very small amount of my deposit back which surprised me. The things I was charged for were completely overpriced and I doubt all of it was done. The place was gross and falling apart when we moved in and they probably charged the last tenant for the same stuff.

a few bad apples shouldn't count. I have lived in an RP Management buil;ding for well over a year and I have nothing but praise for them...sure they increase rents occasionally, sure they are a bit slow in repairs, but hey that's just the hazards with renting apartments in general! If you want real slum lord action move to NY and try to get anything repaired, fumigated, or just plain ole leasing an apartment without giving up a small fortune! There will certainly be upset people who may have gotten the short end of the stick...but I want to know what they did to be so upset in the first place...apartment living is never easy, there will always be rude inconsiderate neighbors and of course lazy apartment managers who do nothing but live rent free. If you can't handle a few hicups then buy your own place and take care of things on your own!
