Cozy nice atmosphere and tasty food

by juniperx

The inside is a lot nicer than the outside suggests. It's a small restaurant but in the good sort of way. Our wait staff was friendly, but not exceedingly. Felt more like we were in their home more than anything. The food was really good. Interestingly I had a pumpkin dish that I was nervous about, but it ended up tasting pretty delightful. Overall, it was a good first time experience with Lebanese food.

Food is not worth the grief!

by srkane

The owner is one of the rudest individuals I have personally encountered in the restaurant business. If the family didn't operate a tahini garlic sauce company, I doubt Karam's the eatery would survive. Regulars seem to be treated well, but one must be "really regular." I went with a friend who once went weekly, then moved out of town, and then moved back to Capitol Hill. He asked me to go to Karam's with him. When we got there, the owner complained about not seeing him and ignored us for most of the evening. He even opened a bottle of wine at our table whilst having an angry conversation on his wireless. The food was alright I guess, but all I remember is the intimidating atmosphere. We took half of meals to go, skipped dessert and got the heck out of there.

  • Pros: Good garlic tahini sauce
  • Cons: Horrible, intiminating service

Delicious food and excellent service!

by juicygator

My boyfriend and I have walked past Karam's many times but tonight decided to give it a try. We had never had Lebanese food and we weren't sure what to expect. We walked in and were immediately sat and offered drinks. Our waitor was very friendly and attentive.

We had a bottle of Lebanese wine, lamb kebabs, and kibbah (stuffed ground lamb). Entrees are served with soup/salad and pita and hummus. We tried the soup and salad which were both really good and so was the hummus. There were so many flavors popping in our mouths that we decided that we need to start coming to Karam's on a regular basis. Everything was really good, but the kibbah stole the show. We topped off our meal with baklava which is small, but super tasty.

Karam's is a quiet place and we could carry a conversation without yelling. We both had a fabulous time and would highly recommend Kiram's.

  • Pros: quiet, no wait
  • Cons:
