The Scene – This is ultimate place to find every knitting essential. The cozy room is piled high with luxury yarns, rich velvets, novelty fibers and finished pieces to admire; plus friendly sales clerks go out of their way to make even the novice knitter comfortable and productive. Since their first book "Simply Beautiful Sweaters" became a best seller, owners Linden Phelps and Beryl Hiatt are busy with visitors from all over the country who stop in to sample their fashionable patterns or get help with finishing touches. Three big tables beckon visitors to sample new yarns and work…

Rude staff

by Walliemoe at Citysearch

Compared to other knitting shops in Seattle, Tricoter has the worst service I have seen. There were at least five staff members there when I went in but I still waited over 10 minutes at the register for someone to check me out. The questions I had were answered rudely and as quickly as possible.

  • Pros: Parking
  • Cons: Rude service, yarn fell apart when using

Frigid, even in the heat of August.

I don't believe I've ever had someone make me feel like the ladies at this shop did. I went to this place with my mother, who dresses somewhat similarly to them, and they still followed me like I was stuffing my pockets with every ball of yarn I could reach. They made it very clear by their attitude and actions that they thought I would steal something, and that my kind was not wanted there.

Well, not only have they lost my business, but the business of the 25 plus knitters I know and meet each day!
