Maddy's Favorite Place
by Ecamper at Citysearch
I'm the owner of a very lovable, yet very timid (and VERY hairy) labradoodle named Maddy whose lack of suitable social manners had kept me away from the groomers for far too long. At the recommendation of a friend I took her into The Grooming Spa where I was instantly impressed by the friendly staff whose love of animals was very obvious. I was still so nervous to leave her and a little embarrassed that it had been so long since I had her groomed! The man that helped me made me feel very comfortable and when I came back to pick Maddy up I didn’t even recognized her she looked so nice! 2 years later, I am still going to The Grooming Spa in Greenlake. They know me and my dog by name and Maddy actually looks forward to going every month. I would recommend The Grooming Spa to anyone!
- Pros: Staff Knowledge; Customer Care; Pricing; Schedule
- Cons: None
Terrific experience at this spa
by mrsprince at Citysearch
We had a wonderful first time experience at this spa after adopting a senior lady Siberian husky in need of winter coat grooming. The staff gave an accurate estimate of time and price involved so we knew what to expect and did an excellent job on our new dog. We got the oatmeal bath for her and she smelled amazing for a week! The staff seemed very familar with this breed and gave her a "hydrotherapy bath" to help with removal of the undercoat. I would recommend this business to any dog owner and will definitely be back!
- Pros: Excellent staff and customer service
- Cons: Typical parking hassles due to location; none with spa
Preschoolers with scissors do better
by NathanL at Citysearch
If you're looking to have your dog groomed at the Grooming Spa, you can save yourself the money and take him/her to a preschool class instead. Simply arm the kids with scissors, and let them have at it. Voila! The Grooming Spa experience for free.
I have a Scottish Terrier who is very friendly and outgoing. Most people know Scottish Terriers by their coats. Unfortunately, whoever groomed my dog must never have seen one before. When I picked up my dog (after paying, unfortunately, I'll never make that mistake again) I was surprised by how sloppy he looked. There was no blending between the back of the coat and the skirt, just a very severe, very unstraight line made by the clippers. One ear had about an inch and a half tuft of fur left in front of it, and the other had none. It's like someone did the other half and didn't stop to check what the first half looked like. Nothing was done to the tail, it looks unkempt and unshaped.
The worst part of it is that now when I go to trim him with the scissors he cowers from me. He has never cowered (from me or anyone else) in the entire time I have owned him. I am completely beside myself to imagine what happened while I was gone that would make him act scared of me.
DO NOT BOTHER.
- Pros: Nothing
- Cons: Everything
I've tried both locations. BOTH ARE EXCELLENT!!!!
by trainertostars at Citysearch
I have been to Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, and countless others in California and Florida. This place would do SO WELL if they went there. They are among the world class grooming establishments I've been to. They not only know how to do the cut I asked for, they did more than any other place I've been to--and it was included in the price. I never write, but when I found them online, I decided to give them the accolades they deserve. Definitely worth a try, and yes, they are worth the price.
- Pros: Upscale to include a cafe while I waited. Extremely dog friendly, and I go what I asked for.
- Cons: Parking
