LONG for food, poor service. Went with a group of 12, with a reservation for the semi-private room, and had to wait almost 90 minutes for the food! They didn't tell us what was hapening - didn't apologize for the long wait till we complained - and didn't offer to bring food or rice for the kids in the group while we watied all that time. The food was fine, but we will not be back! Had they only said something or tried to make the wait easier - but nothing at all. Disappointing -
my fav. thai restaurant in seattle!!!!!!. i live near by but was never a fan at this Thai place, food and service was awful but i was dragged by some friends the other day and notice from the minute we walk in that the atmosphere has changed, service was amazing, food was great, try their heavenly beef.. real heaven, found out from the server that royal palm has changed ownership to a "new management".... since june9, 2007.so,anyone never try or never fond of this place, I'll say JUST GO TRY IT !!!!!! i am a fan now
Best Fried Rice and Impeccable Service!. The food is exceptional with very complex flavors, extremely fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation. To top it off, the service is amazing, very prompt and super friendly. Plus, the atmosphere is lovely. The fried rice is amazing! You're missing out if you don't try this place!
Used to be a great restaurant. This restaurant used to be my favorite. I dont know if they got new owners or what but this restaurant has become terrible. The service was bad and the food had only a greasey taste to it. The restaurant itself is lovely, but there are much better Thai restaurants in Seattle to eat at.
Some of the best Thai food in Seattle, with perhaps the best atmosphere of any Thai restaurant in Seattle. Some of the best Thai in Seattle - and I've tried most! Flavorful, fresh and light! Smaller portions (not by a lot - but slightly smaller, yes). Tradtional Thai offerings, but much better than average. Atmosphere is much better than your average Thai place in Seattle (romantic even). Not so good for young children (hence the romantic qualities). Highly recommended!
Good lunch deal..
I'm not a huge fan of this Thai place, while the decore is nice, the thai food seems to lack a bit of authenticity.
Recently, I stopped by for lunch and found their lunch deal pretty good. You're served a cup of soup immediately, then salad, then noodles with an small side dish. I think it totaled to about $8. Service is h-i-t(Citysearch won't allow me to say that word without the dashes.) or miss, but others have told me they've had better experiences there.
Editorial Review. This inexpensive Ravenna Thai restaurant provides prompt service and large, heavy portions of classic Thai dishes.
Most awful Thai food in town. If folks think this is the best Thai in town, they must not get around. Perhaps we went at a bad time, but how can it be that three dishes were equally dissatisfying? It's definitely made for Americans; the food is either too sweet or bland (and not even the sauces help). They obviously use minced garlic from the jar. Their cheap methods of cooking make the prices completely unreasonable. I'm guessing it needs to be expensive to take care of the high overhead of renting out the nice location. That was the only positive part of the visit. The service was fine, prompt, though our waitress did not crack a smile with any of the patrons during the time we were there.
left a bad taste.... I went for lunch with a friend, we live very close and I've had good take-out from here before. Our lunch waitress was beyond impolite - spoke to us quite disdainfully and never checked back after we got our food. I normally enjoy their food, but was so offended, I will not be back.
Flavorless Thai. I have been dragged by friends to the Royal Palm on many occasions, and I will not go back. Although the atmosphere is is great for an Asian restaurant and the service friendly, it doesn't make up for the bland, overpriced food that caters to Western tastes. Regardless of the number of stars you request, the food is not spicy. I have tried the curries, salads, larb, mee krab, pad thai, and salads and remain unimpressed. The food is heavy, too sweet, and lacking in the complex mix of sour, spicy, salty, and sweet that characterizes Thai food. There are many, many other Thai restaurants in the area that serve far better food.
