They don't know what is in their food

Posting this all over the internet to help other people from suffering my fate!
0 STARS. 0 STARS. If you care about what is in your food, don't go to this restaurant. They don't know what is in their food, and they will mislead you and have you eat things that you can't eat. If you have any kind of allergy or you are vegan DO NOT eat here. I repeat, they do not know what is in their food. Repeatedly told me that some food was OK to eat, and then one day I found out I was eating disgusting dairy sludge for the past year. Disgusting, unacceptable, I will NEVER eat here again. I literally sobbed for hours knowing that I had eaten this crap as veganism is very important to me, it really distressed me in a serious way.
I am going to be writing a letter to the manager and I even wish I could legally peruse them in this matter.
If you have no dietary restrictions this place is probably pretty good, but just be warned how they treat their other customers.
I just HATE it when restaurants don't know what's in their food, it should be illegal. Take advice from me and always say you have a dairy/egg allergy if you're vegan, although I wouldn't put it past these idiots to even take that seriously.
Have fun not knowing what's in your food!
my trip to india

OMG, aside from the fact that i love the Mango chops. The Samossa and the Tandori chicken made a huge immpression on my two picky eatters. The waitress let them look in the kitchen to see the tandori oven. Bengal tiger is our family resturant. If we had it our way we would be their everyday, I find my self going their just to get the mouth watering garlic basil naan, that rarely makes it home. yummm. The service is wonderful, the staff greets us as if we were family.
I'm in love!

I love, love, love this restaurant! My gf and I go here at least twice a month for the past 3 years. Their service is excellent, and food is sublime. I've never tasted anything stale or bland on their menu; everything has always been fresh and flavorful.
I thank Bengal Tiger for making my food life so much more colorful and delicious. I'm no longer just a meat and potatoes guy. Keep it up, B.T., you guys rock!
Poor service, terrible food
by Guestreviewer at Citysearch
I decided to try this place after reading all the great reviews about it. I made the trip to the restaurant for dinner one week night. Once at the restaurant, it took about 7 minutes to be seated, even though the place was virtually empty. The waiters/waitresses seemed to be busy up front and did not notice customers come in. Upon being seated, it took another 5 minutes for the waiter to return with the menu and the papaddums. It took another 10 minutes to get my food after I placed my order. I hoped the food would make up for the poor service, but alas, it was a double whammy for me. The chicken curry dish I ordered was bland; the dish was neither seasoned nor spiced. I had to add lots of salt to give it some flavor. The rice looked and tasted like leftovers. I ordered a side of naan and that too was terrible: cold, thin and crispy, instead of hot and fluffy. It tasted like naan from the frozen food aisle.
Indian cuisine is my favorite and 8 out of 10 times I eat out, I go for Indian cuisine. Bengali Tiger has the worst Indian food I have ever eaten. Frozen Indian food from your local store beats Bengali hands-down.
I will stick to Shalimar in the U-District. Their food never dissapoints and the service, prices, and ambience are excellent!
- Pros: Easily accessible
- Cons: Food, service
