Unfriendly service, but compensated for mix-up.. Two friends who arrived later than us ordered their food, which still hadn't arrived half an hour later, even though one was just a cold hummus plate. When I asked "Is their food coming?" the waiter took offense, even though I was just inquiring whether there was some mix up.

Turns out there was a mix-up, attributed to a printer failure, and my friends' orders had gotten lost. Later when the bill came, it had a large discount for the late items. But no verbal acknowledgment that my inquiry had some basis, much less an apology for being grumpy.

My rating is one star higher because of the discount.

Personally, I would prefer a friendly encounter and to pay full price because I go out to eat to be happy.

Slow but fantastic. I agree with the other posters that this is not fast food. When you go, expect to share at least a pitcher or two before your table gets their meals. That's part of the appeal though. It's a small, chill, neighborhood joint. The food and beer selection are fantastic. They have some of the best pizzas in town. They only have one oven- If it's packed and you order a pizza, you have to wait for the tables before you to get their pizzas. Don't go if you're not willing to wait your turn. The wait staff isn't really rude- maybe a little inattentive. I've never had them get offended when I flagged them down politely though. They have lots of fun events- be sure to ask for a calendar. It's a fantastic neighborhood place, just leave yourself a couple of hours to have a chill, relaxing dinner.

Drinks only; don't eat here!. The menu says pizza will be a 35 minute wait but it doesn't state that is true for everything else including hummus. We ordered a cold sandwich and appetizers and didn't get any food for 40 minutes. The hummus was extremely spicy. Not worth the wait!

Horrible service. I have never been some were that you need to beg for some one to bring you a drink...or your food that you ordered 45 minutes before. I keep trying to go, but the service makes it impossible. One time we sat at the bar and the short haired girl was nice to us, but in general they either must hate their job or people in general. I really really want this to be a fun place to go, but i will never go back because of the service.

I'm not bitter, but I love hoppy beer. Tap for tap, the best beer selection west of the MississippiI mean west of anywhere. Usually a ridiculously good selection of IPAs. Amazingly good food for the walk-in closet sized kitchen and the solo cookhow do they do it? Whens the last time you cooked for 50? Warm atmospherea cross between a ski lodge and a backwoods cabin populated by mostly neighborhood people, many of them among the 'bitterati'. Hard to beat.

Great Neighborhood Pub. The Fiddler is one of my favorite places to go in Seattle. The beer list is always great and the staff is more knowledgable than any other I've found. The crowd is mostly neighborhood who come for the relaxed atmosphere, great brews and very good pub food. The kitchen is extremely small and therefor slow, so on busy nights be sure to make time if you want food.

Incredible beer selection. I've been going to the Fiddler for about five years and I am consistently impressed with the variety of beer that they sell there--so many local and Washington breweries get represented. It's great to have a place to go that doesn't just sell the trendy microbrews. The pizza is very good, too. The food wait can take a while, but there's only one cook, so I guess that's what happens. The staff is lively and friendly.

Unfriendly service. Good selection of esoteric brews. The pizza is good, if overpriced. Service is spotty, leaning to curiously unfriendly. The crowd is hard to figure, but that's a neighborhood place for you.

Catastrophic service. Last night our waitress at the Fiddler's Inn came to our table to yell at a member of our party over an imagined slight (she'd told us they were 'out of coffee' at 9PM , then accused my friend of having disbelieved her), then jabbed a pizza pan at us while berating us at the top of her lungs about how hard her job is. Our server's behavior was inexcusable, and is the sole reason we'll never be back.
