Editorial Review for Gregg's Greenlake Cycle – by Citysearch Editors

The Scene
Gregg's has been in Seattle since owner Stan Gregg's grandfather, Robert Gregg, opened it in 1932. Racers, weekend warriors and the average peddler all go to Gregg's for their gear and gadgets. The shop takes up nearly half a block with its bike, skate and snowboard retail, rental and repair and is conveniently located across from Green Lake's paved paths. Rent bikes or skates for an afternoon jaunt, or browse to buy.

Without a doubt one of the worst bike shops in Seattle. Spent over $1,200 on what should have been a great bicycle. But when it came time for service, they lost my appointment. Made me bring the bike in a second time after waiting several weeks for the first appointment. Gregg's will sell you whatever accessories THEY think you need. They don't really listen to you. You would be much better served going to any of the numerous small shops, where the owner/employee will take the time to give you serious advice.

Pros: big selection, lots of parts

Cons: no apologies for lost appointments, scheduling an appointment is a nightmare
